Very pleased with brunnera this year, especially Jack Frost, The light coloured heuchera is Midas Touch, a small shade lover, I can’t remember which the dark leaf one is and it’s raining so not going out to see if I have a name for it. Acer Orange Dream coming on too. Corydalis Blue Dragon, lovely blue:-)
Now the more observant among you may have noticed what looks, to the untrained eye, rather like a dandelion….fools….its a rare japanese golden ray orchid!
This is a lone giant tulip (Blushing Beauty) in a sea of forget me nots…..all its brethren damaged by heavy rain:-(
And now the new chairs…ta da! There’s posh…came yesterday from Greenfingers sitting on my little quarry tile patio:-)
That’s it for now, pouring down here again, Lincslass will be pleased;-)

Beautiful BA, sorry to disappoint but im afraid i have some of those 'rare' orchids, but they are a bit annoying when they grow up between other plants :^)

Thanks so much for all your lovely comments, it's taken some time to read them all and have the odd chuckle. I'll have to have a look at GOY chairs Terra thanks:-) It goes without saying that seeds of the 'orchid' will be available very soon and anyone wanting some had better get in the queue. I never noticed it until I saw it on the pics lol. The quarry tiles used on the little patio were taken out of my OH's daughter's kitchen many years ago. They're not really outdoor ones so I don't know how long they will last, they've been down about 14 years. I can't come on GOY much today, must get some housework done as I'm off to Malvern tomorrow yay! Must remember to take my camera:-)))))

and your boots BA

Beautiful photos Ba . . . such a pretty border, and I love the shadows cast!
I wore my walking boots to Malvern today - was VERY glad . . . lots of folk in wellies, or strong shoes. The ground is SO MUDDY!! Some exhibitors have put plastic down, but some entrances take great ingenuity to get by.
Lots of luck to you all, and btw I met Vicki from Plantagogo - she sends her love. :))

did you buy some nice things sheila?
good thing i bought those wellies!!!
10 May, 2012
Sticki, I only bought two Veronica gentianoides 'Tissington white' and a beautiful Pelargonium 'Jacki Totlis' which is pink and white. I'm sure you'll find plenty of lovely things. :))
10 May, 2012
was it one of those shows where you didnt find much to buy? or do you prefer to look at shows and buy elsewhere?
is there somewhere nice for coffee sheila? i think there are 7 of us that i know about going tomorrow, im sure someone else said they were going too, sorry, i cant remember who.
10 May, 2012
There was masses to buy, Sticki! But I was conscious of having vouchers to spend at Crocus and Knoll, so was only going to spend if I was really captivated.
Plenty of coffee stops, but don't remember any specific names. There were some beautiful crafts in Wye Hall, but the Floral Marquee was the best bit :))

Thanks Sheila, better take the camera I think. I can only buy what I can carry!
11 May, 2012
Hope you have a good time tomorrow Sticki, we're going on Sunday :-)
You need one of those fold up trolleys, I've got mine out at the ready :-)

Hi BA, hope you have recovered after Malvern. Im just trying to catch up with peoples blogs (who I met a the show) Your border is very pretty and not an easy place to get things to grow. I have alot of shady places in my garden too, but have never managed to get plants to grow under trees very well. The plants always seem to walk - do you find? The Jack frost I can see you have planted at the back of your birch tree looks like it is doing the job really well. Im going to give it a try now. You have inspired me. Like the new table too - very classy!

you a have a lovely garden, i like you garden table and chairs, it could do with a bottle of wine of it though!

You bringing one Dawn? :-) Thanks everyone for your lovely comments :-) Poppy, my 'birch' is the trunk of a lollipopped holly, Golden King. Taking all the lower branches off has allowed me to plant lots of goodies. I find that lamium is good for impossible places and beacon silver's leaves are lovely and bright and it's not hard to dig out if it travels too far. Brunnera Jack Frost has been amazing this year I love it :-)

18 May, 2012
