Thanks Karen, poor you, your drive will return, I was like that in Jul/Aug. I’ve felt lethargic too today and my sciatica has been playing up, your garden is so neat and tidy Karen, it must take a lot of effort to keep it up. I’m always ready for my winter rest when the weather turns cold. I have some horrendous areas, I felt overwhelmed in September but i worked my way through slowly, far from perfect but better. I have beds that looked good for years but over run with thugs but now I’ve found The Secret Garden Club I can get rid and replace plants reasonably, you’ll be raring to get going after a rest Karen.

Thanks Dawn. I hope so. :) Your garden is so huge, there's no way you could keep it neat and tidy all over. :)

Reassuring Karen, thanks.
Amy, baby Ryan (Liquidamber) is growing nicely and has lovely red leaves at the moment :). The sunshine was throwing great light this afternoon.
Thanks Balcony.

It's all looking gorgeous Dawn! You've some stunning Autumn shades there. The little Clem cirrhosa freckles is a beauty and I really like the shrub with the lily of the valley flowers...is it a pittosporum? I think our gardens have worked hard this year, the cold wet spring, then the scorching heat of summer, and now a blaze of colour before their winter sleep. This is when our winter flowerers come into their own....lots to look forward too... :))

that's really good news Dawn I wish I had thought ahead to bring one with me ...

Other Half has been seeing to the pond. Haven't been out to see what has been done but he tells me he can't see any fish. That's it! No more fish to feed that hungry heron.
Like Karen, I don't feel like doing anything though, to be honest, I have given up on gardening. The gardener can take over when he is here.
I do love Autumn colours ,though this year I'm not sure we will be visiting the New Forest to see the glorious displays there. Our Acers will have to do! When I find my camera I'll take some photos.*
* How can one lose a camera in the house?

lots of wonderful colour there Dawn. sciatic is no joke, poor you.
I'm allowed back in the garden next Tuesday so I will have to tackle the weeds too.

Thanks Janey, the one with lily of the valley like flowers is Arbutus unedo, the strawberry tree.
Sheila, no4 is Viburnum opulus.
Ryan is 20?!?! Oh my Amy, bet it doesn't seem long ago when you were buying the tree to celebrate his birth.
Eirlys, you'll probably feel more like gardening after your winter rest - darn heron :-(. Like our dreaded badger, another trillium has been dug up and eaten, annoying.
Seaburn, that's great news, you've recuperated well, bet you're itching to get stuck in.
Thanks Hywel.

Beautiful Dawn. There’s always so much to enjoy in your garden. I am suffering from a lack of energy at the m9ment. Everything feels like a huge effort. Every time I go outside I feel overwhelmed by everything that needs doing, especially the weeding. But I have cleared out a lot from the driveside border this week. It was getting very over-full. And today I put the autumn feed on the grass. Hopefully the mojo will return soon.
