Thought I’d add a photo of the garden today taken from just outside my study window.
And for those of you who like to see close ups, a couple of my favorite roses,
Brother Cadfael.
Summer Song
Crown Princess Marguerite
Gertrude Jekyll
Another favorite, Peony Bowl of Beauty
and Philadelphus Virginal
Hope you enjoy…

Thanks everyone. Do you know, until I moved into this house I didn't really like roses! But then I didn't know what beauties there are to be had. I'm now hooked. And for the first time since its creation, I can say I'm pleased with my garden; I get pleasure from it every time I look at it. And the perfume from the roses is just divine. I just wish we could have a few balmy evenings to really bring out their scent.

I have never really liked roses, either, but some of the photos on GOY recently are changing my opinion! Your garden is spectacular!

Its really lovely -what a great view from the study - does it stop you getting any work done? I could almost smell the scent of Bro Cadfael. What perfect roses.

Goodness. Thank you everyone.
Paul, you really should try a couple of roses especially the more highly perfumed ones. I am sure you too would be hooked! And thank you for your lovely comment!
The design has just sort of evolved Bloomer. I can't believe the difference from the first blogs I wrote a couple of years ago.
Yes Waddy, I suppose I do feel proud especially when it is all my own work apart from some of the heavy stuff at the beginning when I called on the help of OH.
And I feel even more pleased after a friend who has recently moved house asked if I would help him design his garden. He wants bird, bee and butterfly friendly ~ just up my street.

Thanks Tuesday. It's great in the summer when I can have the study door open and get the wafts of scent coming in from Brother Cadfael.

Mmm...delicious!

You have a beautiful garden Digginfit. I love the idea of working in your study with the door open. Not many people who have to travel to work, would be lucky enough to enjoy a view like this.

Thanks again Alan. I do consider myself fortunate. Especially as I don't work; apart from the garden! I consider it more of a studio, than a study as it's where I do my embroideries and other crafts and hobbies. Lucky duck eh?!

I too am lucky enough not to have go to work. I used to race around with my lawn mower on Sunday and Friday evenings, then was away from home most of the week at work. Not anymore though, I have time to do lots of little projects in the garden that have been on my ' JOBLIST' for years.

Wow!!! I missed this first time round beautiful garden I love all your roses, mine look a bit flat today after yesterday's torrential rain and hailstones :-(
