Well, I'll do what I can, Paul, but the great gardener in the sky didn't seem inclined to help when I was trying to shove waves of warmth and hot sunshine in your direction back in the summer...... Don't wish too hard - you may get a drought! LOL!

Nariz, I can't echo your sentiments enough - we have taken on helping farming friends to look after their animals during January and February, and they live up an even higher mountain than ours, and are about an hour's journey from here in good weather!

Well, they're in a very difficult situation, and they're good friends and they've been good to us, so you do what you can: not looking forward to it at all, Nariz.

Not all philanthropic, Sheila - they're giving us our Christmas Goose!

That's got to beat Turkey from Tescos Lol xx

Well, there have been years, Annella, when the promised turkey/goose/duck hasn't turned up until tea-time on Christmas Eve, and I didn't have the energy, inclination or time to despatch, pluck, scorch, draw, clean, stuff and get it into the roasting tray, so we have the equivalent of a Tesco's turkey in the freezer, just in case, and the goose will wait until New Year's Day!

It's really odd, Janey - there's snow still in the village up the hill, and there's snow further down the hill an in the valley, but our little hamlet is completely snow-free. We've had glorious, warm sunshine today, too. It almost feels spring-like!
