Hello everyone :)
I haven’t been on here much lately and haven’t been able to do much in the garden either,
and it had got into such a mess …
but today I have been able to do some tidying – weeding, clipping, and pruning (so that the garden doesn’t look quite as wild as it did)
I have posted some photos of my ‘tidied’ garden for you to see.
First some views :-
Unknown Clematis …
Multi Blue Clematis …
Centaurea …
Omphalodes …
A flowering cactus – Rebutia minuscula …
I hear that there’s been some bad weather in the east. I hope it brightens up soon for you.
It’s been lovely here :o) and I hope it lasts so that I can get more done in the garden.
See you again soon :o)

You have a beautiful garden Hywel. Is the statue of Francis of Assisi ?

Really fantastic closeups Hywel. Your garden doesn't look as though its ever been a mess but I know what you mean - take a week off and weeds are suddenly everywhere. Speedwell and willowerb are the ones trying to get the better of me here. Sorry to hear you've been up against it - maybe you'll both feel better for a bit of sunshine like today.

Hywel , always a pleasure to see your garden in any stage or condition. Hope you will be able to spend lots of time there this summer. Best wishes to you, Beryl and Bela (from Canada).

Hello Hywel, its always good to see you and your garden, as is usual your shrubs and plants look amazing, they don't mind that you can't spend as much time with them as you used to and the rewards of the past spent out there are showing in all the photographs, take care now xx

Your garden is looking good, Hywel. No gardening for me over the last few days, rain and strong winds have been battering us. Looking forward to improvements this weekend.

I do believe now that my Clematis is Carnaby, now that I've seen the name, thanks Thrupennybit :)

Looks great to me Hywel. Sorry to hear your not so good. I know you don't like too much sun, but some time sitting in the garden may help you feel better.

So lovely to see your garden again with St Francis keeping watch over everything.
Your clematis are beautiful and your garden looks very well cared for. Hope you didn't overdo it.

What beautiful clematis. We have trouble growing them and I like them very much.
Your garden looks so tidy. Wish I could say the same for ours. The weeds seem to spring up overnight and the brambles don't lag behind. When it's dull and drizzly we don't weed; when it's sunny it's too nice to do any work! As a result we have quite a few areas that need attention.
Sorry to hear you have not been feeling 100%. Take the time off to enjoy your garden, around the lavender and herb areas, if possible. I'm sure you have some.

Your garden is looking very good, Hywel! Perhaps it even looks better for not having been "tidied" up for a while! It can become very frustrating keeping a garden "spick & span" as if it were a room in your house! A little of nature's "wildness" can teach us some lessons!
I love your Clematis, such big, beautiful flowers!

Oh Balcony, more effort goes into keeping the garden under some sort of control than ever goes into keeping the house spick and span - often our living room looks more like a second hand bookshop than anything. If its the man doing the garden the woman can keep the house tidy but if she is the gardener its rare for the man to tidy the house, though less rare than it used to be.

Thank you all for reading my blog.
I am not unwell. It's Beryl who needs so much help that I get very tired.
Well we are both gardeners, so where does that leave the house ?
It's me that does it all now anyway because B can't, and an untidy house gets on my nerves.
