Time to trim.

I decided to get my little battery operated trimmer out this afternoon. The fence on the right side ( pic with the edge of a log shed in it ) has ivy growing all the way along – I thought I’d tackle it and tidy it up. Once that task was finished, I took to the back. I had to stand up on the little wooden wall which is at the bottom of the rockery. ( I have better balance skills than I thought )
The ivy meets a ceanothus on the left and the pink rose on the right, it merges nicely. I’ll have to get OH to trim the ceanothus that is higher up above the ivy, I just couldn’t reach it at the top. It’s quite a short fence on top of the rockery. Beyond the fence, we planted many shrubs, many years ago.. it’s quite vertical. There were some shrubs planted on the bund hill by the developers initially.
The fence on the left side has some euonymus, ivy and a clematis. The big laurel was trimmed a few weeks ago – haven’t posted this.

Job well done there, that girl! Good balance skills indeed. The garden is looking very good Katie.

OH did our privet hedge with his petrol trimmer, he then spent an hr complaining of pain in his left arm. I got a frantic text from daughter asking me if I thought he might be having a heart attack. Bless her. I rang and oh answered and said he was fine he'd been swinging the trimmer about. Honestly he could have told Victoria that was why he had pain.

You'll have biceps like Popeye after all that heavy work! It looks good. A green wall is very attractive.

Thanks Julia, sometimes we think a certain task will be easy, at least I didn’t have my flip flops on - I’ve attempted to do the odd snip with the secateurs with them on, foolish thing really. I should know better.
Thanks Paul, that rose just keeps going, the pic doesn’t do it justice..it has dozens of buds waiting to open.
Thanks Eileen, that’s kind. Poor Victoria! That’s the trouble with men, they are so blasé sometimes aren’t they! They don’t think the way we do! As long as he is ok!
I have to agree, Anget, I love a green wall myself. I’m hoping I’ve helped exercise my legs a little in the process! I’ll still have to get Rob to sort the tops though..saying that the ivy along the side fence I could’ve just got the step ladder out..
Thanks all ;-)

Thanks Sue and Lincslass, kind of you both.
I know, the flip flops! Sometimes I think, yeah, I’ll be fine, haven’t had an accident yet! But, it’ll happen..I will learn the hard way!!!

It looks nice now :) Good idea to use the trimmer for the Ivy. I've got one like that but never thought of using it n Ivy because of the big leaves but think I will now.

Thanks Hywel, I must say it does make the job easy, and neat! OH has a big trimmer, but, I couldn’t have handled that one myself! :-)

Nice job Kate. You make it sound easy, but I'm sure it was a good work out. lol. That rose is outstanding, color, form overall appearance.

Thanks Paul, I quite enjoy the devastation and then the clear up! It does give you a bit of a work out, all the stretching! Thanks for liking the Rose, it’s definitely a giver.
