Blossoming Bund.

The bund hill is starting to come alive again – although I do have some evergreens planted up there.
Blossoms are brightening up the hill and the shrubs seem to be growing and displaying better year on year.
I’ve noticed the rosemary up there too, at the bottom end, is starting to flower too – lovely fragrance and colour.
Little helper out again, supervising my photography skills!

☺️ thanks Ange! I’m pleased with the bund every year! Yes, the little madam is definitely the boss round here!

my blackthorn is also coming into flower now. Such a beautiful shrub.
Eve is very curious but there again she is a cat ;o)

Sorry, Meadow, that gave me a vision of us all emerging from our Covid winter lethargy and having a strong dose of a cold water shower! Strange imagination. Lockdown is really getting to me! But really I do know what you mean and you're right. We were just talking this evening about tackling the horrid job.

I know what you mean about feeling a bit down, Meadow, but the bright days are helping, though and the beautiful blossomy pics. on here are a real tonic. Thank you, Kate and others for your cheering photos and apologies for going 'off-topic'.

Wonderful to see the first flowers of the year

Gorgeous photos Kate, especially the blackthorn blossoms, they're so dainty.
Pretty Eve, looking very shiny as she keeps her eye on you..:))

Eve is such a pretty cat with a very shiny coat.
The blossoms are looking lovely, it really is a beautiful time of year.

Beautiful photos Kate ... really made me smile 🙂.

Have to agree, Eileen, it’s definitely a beautiful shrub to have..there are quite a few up on the bund. Love the blossoms, especially when you see the flower close up.
Cats are definitely curious aren’t they, sometimes too curious!!!!

Thank you, loads, Julia! That’s very kind. I think the warmer few days coming up will really help everyone out there! A taste of what’s to come - getting out and soaking up some sunshine and warmth!
OH had the pressure washer out the other weekend and set to work. It is quite a task isn’t it!!! Often you need a wet suit on!!!! Well, OH seems to be drenched from his feet up when he’s finished!!!

I’m sorry you’ve been feeling low, Julia. I think many people are feeling sort of ‘institutionalised’ or feeling their home environment is a safety net, over this past year. This is so very understandable. It’s been surreal, claustrophobic, fearful, emotional among other feelings. Many of us have felt out of control and anxious. It’s very hard at times to rationalise everything that’s been going on. The close family and friends contact has been on hold, which has been painful for all. I just hope, now, we can see some hope and look forward to some normality ahead. Get out in the garden as often as the weather allows! Even if it’s just to look and enjoy the changes in the season and what’s around the corner for summer. 🥰

Thanks Ange! I’m pleased with the bund, there is so much blossom on it this year..it’s looking very ‘blossomy’ ☺️

Thank you, Mossy. It’s such a good use of the bund hill, many of us have planted on it now. One couple have put a greenhouse at the bottom with steps up to the entrance.

Thanks Janey, I do like the little detailed blossom of this shrub. Eve is looking quite shiny, she quite enjoys having her coat brushed too!

Thanks Klahanie, it’s definitely getting more full each year as the shrubs grow. I’ve a few junipers/conifers/pines up there for evergreen colour - all growing nicely.

Thank you, Chris! It’s a lovely time of year for us all, after the winter and the lockdown...hope is in the air and the garden! Thanks for the lovely comment about Eve.

Sheila, thank you kindly, I’m happy I have made you smile. ☺️

Paul, thank you for your message, I’m chuffed! It’s always good to see blue skies isn’t it!!!!

OH pressure washed our patio slabs and brick path a few days ago using an attachment with a circular brush inside so he didn’t get at all wet! We are lucky to have a fairly small garden to maintain and it has made a huge difference. Photo to follow 🙂.

Look forward to seeing you pic, Sheila. I need to get OH to sort out his pressure washing equipment and laundry needs!!! 😊
28 Mar, 2021
Hi Kate, just posted a pic in a short blog. OH's new equipment really is a blessing :)

Good to see so much coming to life 😁

Thanks Sheila, I’ve just had a look and posted. You were quick!!!😊
Looks absolutely fab!!!
28 Mar, 2021
Thanks Terra, I think we’re all feeling a little bit more cheerful I hope. 😊

Lovely photo's Kate, Eve has taught you well, lol, loving the blossom shots, its good when an idea works, your bund has certainly been successful.
28 Mar, 2021
Julia, buy yourselves an attachment for the pressure washer (see above). You will never get soaked again! (the make might be Karcher?).
28 Mar, 2021
I do hope the warmer weather helps make things a bit cheerier, Julia. Its been so dull and windy here today, I've been reading a new book and catching up on here. Resigned to staying indoors until tomorrow!
28 Mar, 2021
Thanks for the tip, Sheila. We've a Karcher pressure washer. 😊
28 Mar, 2021
I’ve started a book this lunchtime, Julia. I’m enjoying it. I’ve got to page 159.
It’s definitely a day for indoors, relaxing.
I’d like to look at the Karcher attachment too.
28 Mar, 2021
The Karcher ad doesn’t give the attachment a name, but it’s a yellow ‘box’ with a brush inside that works with a circular motion ... you attach it to the hose. If you can talk to your dealer he’ll no doubt explain better 🙂.
I usually have two books on the go at once!
29 Mar, 2021
Thank you Sheila! That’s great!
My friend dropped a couple more books off the other day - all socially distanced. The book I started yesterday, I’m nearly finished. It’s a good thriller!
My Dad can read more than one book simultaneously too.

Just found this one Kate! I always seem to be catching up! The blossom is looking lovely and I can't help it, but everytime I see Eve, I think of Minnie who we both miss!

Thanks Rose, it’s even more blossomy now!
I don’t think we ever get over the loss of a pet, they’re so much part of the family aren’t they...
I hope seeing Eve doesn’t make you sad, but, happy. Happy memories. 🐈⬛

Eve's a good taskmaster. She has obviously trained you well with your excellent photography skills. It all looks very 'blossomy'. Lovely.
