Look who has moved in with us!

Perry joined us on Saturday when we collected him from a breeder. He is 21mths old and a retired show dog. He had qualified for Crufts but wasn`t going any further up the showing ladder so his owner thought the best thing for him was to become a pet and luckily for us, our pet. We heard about him from Terratoonie who had made lots of enquiries on my behalf and lead us to him. I can`t thank her enough for finding Perry who has already fitted in really well. he is of course vastly different from Jake. He has a wonderful temperment but unlike Jake, he is more puppyish but think thats because he has never lived the life of a house dog. We have already taught him to sit and play ball, things he was never taught to do. A show dog is taught to stand instead. The only problem we have is separation anxiety and on Saturday night he howled the house down. Sunday night he only moaned mournfully for several hours which is a step in the right direction. Jim had to leave him for a couple of hours this morning so he took him for a long walk, returned and fed him and while he was eating he slipped out. On his return Perry was pleased to see him but certainly wasn`t howling or upset which is excellent news. Hopefully tonight he will be calmer but even if he isn`t, I know he`ll get there in the end. I thought you`d like to see a few photos of him, he`s a beautiful boy , well muscled with huge feet and very healthy too. I know he`s going to be a wonderful pet. My son Dan and daughter Kerry wanted to call him George and we nearly gave in but after talking about it last night we`ve decided that he was called Perry when he came to us and Perry he will stay. Anyway, it really suits him I think. :o)

My whole family has fallen for Perry who is pictured with my son Danny.

I usually find Blue Tits fly away before I get the chance to take a photo. This one was so absorbed in the peanuts that it didn`t notice me at all.

I thought the combination of the Crocuses and the Heuchera loo really nice together. Looks like somethings been munching on the Heuchera though!

I forgot I`d planted these crocuses last year and was pleasantly surprised to see them open.

Oh Sandra what a gorgeous dog Perry is! I hope you and him have many happy years together. He looks as if he's going to settle in there alright- very comfortable I must say! Lucky him and lucky you :~))))). By the way, your crocuses are lovely too - lol.

Good idea to keep the name Perry :o)
He is beautiful, and with your capable and sensible training will soon settle in really well with your household. You've already made great progress with him in a short time. Well worth that very early morning journey on Saturday ;o)
