Take Note Anglian Water...

One spare wheelie bin, a length of downpipe, two extra bends, one saw, a ladder and a hubby with my help of course and this is what we have..

Brilliant, no more lugging the bathwater down the stairs for Susie.
I`ll let it stand for a few days then use it on my garden, not on my fruit and veg and definitely nowhere near the pond but anywhere else is ok..
Don`t praise hubby too much though, he spoilt the whole effect when I was thanking him by saying" Now when you are busy watering the garden, I can go fishing."LOL…

That's ingenious and a very practical solution. Good job - I can see the idea being quite widely copied!

What a great idea ,so far yorkshire water are at 92 % full in there reservoirs so no hosepipe ban here at the moment fingers crossed it stays that way.Hopefully you will get some rain this month.April Showers maybe lol:)))))

I've been doing this for about 2years or more, got photo on my here with down pipes coming of my shed at the back of my greenhouse.

I already have them off the sheds around the garden Clarice and 3 proper waterbutts off the house, I can`t fit them off my greenhouses as they dont have guttering ledges which is a shame, I`m using the rainwater for my foodcrops and the fishpond if needed...

Great job well done!

You are allowed to fill your fishpond with hosepipe if it needs it Lincslass or so I have been informed, but not ornamental/water gardens only fish ponds.

Good for you Lincs....Our area has just started a hosepipe ban today....We have 7 water butts and 17 20ltr cannisters full of rainwater, but it wont last long as we grow all our own veggies....Not quite sure how this year is going to pan out, as the local weather forecast down here in Essex sees no heavy rainfall heading our way for a while, and the ban certainly wont be lifted for this year without some serious deluges....

Yes our ban also started today Milky, pleased to say we had 36hrs of torrential rain started Tues, so now I have all butts, bins and that includes my recycling bin, lol, and all buckets and cans I could find topped up,a very squidgy garden as well, its passed over now so keep your fingersxx it might head your way, its going to take a long while to replenish our supplies, so still have to be careful..
