Still hanging on...

You do not want to see my garden at the moment, it has a very soggy look to it, the bottom lawn is more a golden and brown colour as its covered in leaves, too wet too even attempt to clear them at the moment, theres still lots to fall so I`m using that as my excuse, plus if I`m honest I simply haven`t been in the mood for gardening for the last few days, my getup and go has done a bunk.
I did go out to feed the birds and thought I`d take a few pics of the last remaining flowers, we haven`t had any bad frost as yet so there are a few lingering for me…
My fuschia`s in the baskets are already in the g`house, I`d had them in the front garden and lack of sunlight has caused them to go over very quickly this year as did my tubs and borders, in fact the pansies I have planted in the baskets and troughs for winter are also proving to be a disappointment which is a shame….
A few brave souls smiling at me, think I need my wellies and clippers for a touch of deadheading…
Fluffy fronds and a bit of blue sky for a change….
Back inside so a guest has arrived to check out whats on the menu today…..

I have given up on pansies, something always eats the flowers, they are slightly better if up high in baskets.
I use primroses and polyanthus, I find them more reliable.

What a lot of lovely colour, after last nights rain we're soggy too, we have had a number of frosts over the past weeks, even last weekend, and forecast for tonight too, but at least that means a nice bright sunday

yes my garden also extremely waterlogged - in fact lifted conifer out to move and good job as a puddle of water underneath! You still have a load of good colourful plants there and those pampas are amazing !!!!

You are so lucky Linclass. I have no flowers at all. it is just too cold here.

I can understand you not wanting to go out the garden when it's like that Sue. I feel the same these days ... it's rather unpleasant when the garden's like that.
You've got lots of nice flowers though :o)

Know how you feel Lincs, I came back home to a very soggy garden smothered in leaves! but you do have a suprisingly amout of flowers putting on a brave face for you, the rose Helichrisium and Dahlias are looking particulary good, enjoy them while the last, looks as though we are in for some very low temperatures;0(

Lots of colour still in your garden....It's been so mild that there's a lot of plants still flowering well into November! But, what a shame it's been such a wet year(here too) so many flowers have been damaged! Not good!
lulu, you mentioned the Nerines...they were incredibly late coming into flower here in Essex too, this year and are still flowering now.Theynwere so late, I thought they weren't going to flower!

I am just like you Sue, hate the damp and wet and dont venture out into the garden much but yours looks so pretty, you still have so much colour!..........

Hi all, its ironic really, its been grand here today but I was too busy to go into the garden, fingers xx I`ll get out in the next few days, its a bad time of the year for me and my mojo disappeared due to my emotional state, I was ready to fight my own shadow, lol....

There's plenty of colour there to cheer you up, Lincs. I sometimes get days like this , but it never lasts long. Our part of Lincolnshire has had a lot of sunny days which makes up for the shortness of them! You have far more colour in your garden than I do! I love those Nerines! Mind you, if I get a day like this , at least the housework gets done! LOl.

Hi Sue ...
Plenty of brightness still in your garden ...
... the forecast for tomorrow is sunny, so maybe that will entice you outside to do gardening...
I hope your feathered visitor approved of the menu ! ;o)
