Or should I say they were, Mother Nature is determined to throw a spanner into the works..
No signs of my Iceberg or Princess Diana opening yet and can’t say I blame them, took these pics yesterday, the poor things have been taking a right bashing today and the forecast is just as bad for tomorrow, pity anybody who has booked a camping holiday in our country for this year….
Others strutting their stuff as well..
As you can see I thought summer was coming so fetched my succulents out of the g’house, now thats good for a laugh…..

Steve I think we've gone and turned turtle and thats a polite way of putting it, soon be the longest day and we've had the lights on for ages, all my nice new patio candles will remain in their packages as all the midges have emigrated to warmer climes....

W'rose, I'm blaming my hubby, LOL, he was in charge whilst we went away last week and has very helpfully left the hose out for me to use besides taking over the cutting of the grasses, I said he's scared the weather....

Shame about your lovely roses, Lincslass, but this bad weather is forecast to blow itself out over the day tomorrow. Not much consolation I know when your roses are all bedraggled & their petals are torn off by the strong winds.
At least we can expect some respite & some warmth for a few days mid-week onwards! :-))

Oh Balcony I sincerely hope they have that right, its one thing going daft indoors in the winter but May and June is beyond a joke, I'm fedup of housework, need fresh air and sunshine, lol....

Lovely blog love your Roses and Iris s at least with roses de head and you get more it if they snap. Goodness knows if I ve got any left standing with these winds.

Well, your garden is beautiful, and the storm will pass soon. I really love your succulents corner. i hope the wind doesn't damage them. Incredibly, we seem to have been missed out by the storm. Its been less windy here than of late since yesterday tea time. Lets just hope thats the end of it. Now for a few months. Like you I am as sick of windy weather! My succulents are safe in the greenhouse, but they will be coming outdoors this week I hope. Along with the lemon tree. Everything needs fresh air now...including us! :))

agree with everything everyone has said, beautiful flowers and roses. Hope they have survived the windy weather. We do not look to have been battered too badly but will know better after I venture outside. Hope it is right that it is warming up this week, sick of the cold and wind now.

Surprisingly no roses broken as of yet, its still windy but the sun keeps peeking through, I'm trying to get organised before I have my op which is next week, I've tugged most of the leaves away from the bulbs and hoping to give my rockery plants their annual haircut, as some have already flowered and looking a bit straggly, can't settle to anything at the moment, going through a start and stop stage, lol.....

...I should think so LL. You'll feel so much better after the Op is over and done with. The wind has arrived here now :( But lets stay positive about the end of the week. And when you come home from your Op. lets hope it will be warm and sunny and that will make your recovery so much better as you sit and relax in the sunshine in your lovely garden, sniffing your roses :)

Well Lincs your roses are looking much better than mine some of them are`nt even given the chance to open before the rain and wind is making them brown soggy and wet. Lets just hope for some sunshine to soothe you when you`re recovering from the op. my best wishes are winging there way to you.
Love your pond pic.

Great, you have so many roses in flower, I dont have one yet. Your flowers are so nice, lets hope for a windless day tomorrow.

It seems the weather forecasters are getting things right as this morning it has dawned bight and sunny with little wind, at least at present. Should be a much warmer day today as well. :-))

Oh has just seen the forecast for here...50 mph winds again Sat. WHY???
3 Jun, 2015
The wind has dropped here and its been a very good day, even my arms had some sunshine, seems ages since I didn't need to pop my denim gardening shirt on whilst outside, hubby has treated himself to a new petrol mower so my lawns have been cut again, I watched him just to make sure my borders were left alone, I know him from days gone by, he tends to put his feet in the wrong place, I had already been around with my strimmer, I DO NOT trust him that much, lol, at least he is doing it without me having to ask though and although he would never admit it I know he enjoyed doing them and was proud of the results.....

I hope your garden is all right after the rough weather.
Your succulents are doing well :)

It fared well Hywel although I have some repairs to do to the top g'house, a temporary fix in place at the moment, don't expect to have to do that during the summertime do we.
Thanks, I'm really pleased with my succulents, the flowers are really pretty, proper hooked, I'm going to keep my eyes open for more, lol...

Yes, the weather is so changeable at the moment....even down here in the mild South East........we've had strong winds(just three days after my new greenhouse was erected...so I had my fingers firmly crossed and it worked, fortunately.) Then, we were woken by thunder this morning at 6.10 , followed by torrential rain but then it cleared up and the temperature reached 26 on my patio this afternoon, but, the forecast for tomorrow is for a top temperature of 15C...very odd!

Lovely show of flowers. Shame they got a battering though. The wind has not stopped today, very gusty here but no rain.

It is awful to think of those beautiful roses getting such a battering, they look so pretty.
Your pond won't mind though - ours is filling up nicely. As you can see I am clutching at straws to be positive about this awful weather!
You have a lovely garden.
