My little garden last late octobre 2020

Hello Everyone, I’m feeling so frustrated at the moment that I decided to put up a few pictures of the garden from last October. I am so bored, can’t wait to get outside again. I tried to do some voluntary work to make myself useful but couldn’t because of health problems. I am sure we are all looking forward to working in our gardens again.

I’m sure we’re all desperate to get outside and get our hands into the soil again. Let’s hope it won’t be too much longer.
I love the chair in the last photo Mossy - did you make it?

Thank you Sheilabub, No, I bought it about 20 years ago from a local nursery, who did not want to sell it. I asked for the name of the supplier, they wouldn't give me the details but said they would contact me which they did a few days later. I subsequently bought one from them, then they began selling them calling them the 'Chigwell Chair'.

Mossy, I sympathise with your frustration. It has been such a long-haul winter this year and everyone who has a garden is yearning to work outside again. The beauty in yours in something unique and hopefully it will warm up soon and you'll be able to enjoy its serenity. At least those ghastly winds have disappeared this morning and we are promised a warmer week. Something to look forward to!

Thank you very much Anget ..it is my first winter in the UK in 25 years as it was not possible to go to the south east of France to see my Familly on the 20th of December due to the pandemic...now realy looking forward to seeing the end of this cold weather as I am sure we are all

I can see how you'd miss your family and that lovely area of France over the winter. I long to go back for holidays, myself!

I love it all and am taking notes as we downsized some time ago moving from a big garden to a small one which is mainly gravelled due to underlying concrete Your garden is giving me ideas on how to transform mine , I sympathize with you not being able to visit your family in France we have been in the habit of holidaying in France every summer ,we love it and find the people the kindest and so helpful we've missed it ...

What a truly lovely space you have created, it is all so rich and colourful and interesting.
Today the temperature went up to 12 degrees and it was quite pleasant outside - what a difference it made. Hope we get a few more days just like it, or even warmer!!

Mossy, you have my favourite style of gardening! Lots of lushness; ferns, moss, cloud pruning, phormiums, hostas and much more. It feels private and restful.
I’m so sorry you haven’t been able to get over to France to see your family and friends due to this awful pandemic. It’s bad enough being in this situation, but, not to be able to get there to see them, it adds to the stress.
I hope your health is improving? Sending best wishes.

Your garden makes me feel warm and safe just looking at it. Not quite the same as wintering in the south east of France but could do worse as far as a garden is concerned. Thanks for sharing (albeit virtually) Mossy.

Thank you Kate, I'm glad that you like the style of my garden. The weather is starting to warm up and I am sure that in a few days we will be out working in our gardens.
Thank you very much White Horse for your nice comment. Actually the weather is much better in this part of the UK for sub tropical plants as it is extremely humid here. Even though the weather is much hotter in SE France we can have 2-3 weeks of minus dry temperatures that will kill sub tropical plants.

Hello Amy2, thank you for your nice comments, I'm ever so glad that my garden gave you some ideas. When my garden is open for the NGS I am really happy when people tell me the garden has given them ideas, people who have downsized from a hugh to very small garden and think they cannot do anything in it and then realise that actually they have a real potential. Gardens are about sharing, sadly I don't know anyone in this area who have similar interests

I do love your garden Mossy and you have fantastic imagination and flair! It will soon be spring and hopefully will be able to get outside again!
My cousin lives in France and was supposed to be coming over this year, but sadly couldn't because of the coronavirus.
I hope you are feeling better now!

Sorry I had missed this one , we'd been experiencing problems with internet, for once it wasn't our end so just had to be patient whilst it was sorted out....Your garden is as lovely as ever Mossy, it was featured on the television a few years back wasn't it..

Thank you so much Lincslass. We are all celebrities in Chigwell, you only have to watch 'The Only Way is Essex' 🤢🤮 ..lol (appalling programme). If you are ever this way, you are more than welcome to come and have a glass or two in the garden as I do like to meet other garden enthusiasts😃
