Bathing my Airplants (Tillandsia)

Miserable day yesterday, between the rain and the wind so decided spray my tillandsia with rainwater from my 100 year old whisky barrel that collects rainwater from the front of the house as I haven’t done anything to them for two weeks. They really look forward to me putting them out in the garden again. I am absolutely fascinated by tillandsia, they make absolutely astonishing flowers with bright colours. They require very little once outdoors, just a spray of rainwater once a week if it is a very dry period, that is,very rare in the UK….lol.
Here is some of my collection of tillandsia.

Wow Mossy that is a fabulous collection, I love these but only have one, its donkeys years old and I'm afraid only receives attention about three times a year but apart from getting dusty it is thriving, never has flowered though, I can't really pop mine outside as its glued into a rather fancy container...I've seen many in glasshouses at Kew and other grand houses and often wish I could have more....

Wow! That is some collection you have there. In some of the pics they almost look like they’re putting on a ‘show’.
You’ve obviously given them a lot of love and care, Mossy.
Looking forward to seeing the ones in flower.

I do neglect the poor thing Mossy, that's mainly because its always lived up on a very high shelf , I'll have to bring it down to a more accessible position....

Goodness, that IS a collection! They have fascinating shapes. It must be a challenge finding them all homes until they can be put outside again. But they are attractive. Can't wait to see them in flower.
