GoY Update: Comment Count Returns

Will the "notifications" replace your having to inform us of updates by posting as a general blog? This would be excellent, and would ensure that we all get them. :-))

Great, too, that we can see comments during current log-ins. Exchanges of info, etc, on GOY are already swift, but this will help us share info, ideas, solve problems, etc, even quicker. You guys are, really, wizards! :-))

I suspect that it will depend on how much we have to say :o) We will use the notifications from now on and if we want to post more detail than a short notice we'll blog and put a link to it in the notification.

I think that the way questions are submitted could be improved upon. At the moment here is no field for the question title, and the first line of the question is used as the title. This means that there are some questions with poorly phrased titles.

Also, any chance of a 'thanks' button?

If you edit a question you can change the title. The reason we take the first part of the question is when we prompted for a title & a question we found the titles to be less informative. We had a lot of titles like "Help" that weren't useful.

I just didn't want to be left out of this so I agree with whatever everyone says. Not sure who you are Peter but I guess you are the one who fixes things and keeps everyone happy. Thanks also to those who have made me feel so welcome, but - I do have a worried husband who can't understand why I am spending so much time on the computer all of a sudden!

Grandmage - the counts on your homepage let you know if someone has commented since your last visit. Or if they have commented during your current visit to GoY. You can also set up your profile so that we email you if you have received comments - feel free to get in touch if you'd like more explanation.

Droopydraws - Hi, and welcome to GoY :o) I'm one of the people that fixes things (www.growsonyou.com/ajay is the other).

Richardpeeej & Valadel - PMs are included in the counts too.
