This is what Henry does all the time now. Of course he gets stroked! :-)))) Who could resist those pleading eyes?

Yeah, my dog never got any attention either! Just like Henry's eyes, couldn't resist 'em! ; )

All my dogs have had those "unloved, unfed" eyes too!!
1 Nov, 2010
i can see henry is neglected barbara, poor thing lol, hope he is well at the moment and give him a big hug from me please barbara ;o)) x
1 Nov, 2010
He heard OH rattling about in the kitchen, so he's gone. Yes, completely neglected! LOL.
You don't think he already is 'laying it on', Louise? If I stop stroking him and he wants more, up comes the paw. Pat, pat. ;-))
1 Nov, 2010
He's lovely Barbara, who could resist those eyes, I'm sure you don't.
1 Nov, 2010
No, I can't! Thanks - he is. :-)))
1 Nov, 2010
Arh.......what a little tinker he is...those irresistable eyes!!......Hope he is making a good recovery xx
1 Nov, 2010
How could anyone ignore that little face Spritz.
1 Nov, 2010
He definitely has "that look" down pat! lol He's adorable and I'm pleased he is returning to good health (a good recovery, as mentioned above).
Our pets can steal our hearts with just a look....

arhhhhhhh
1 Nov, 2010
Ah yes, I remember that 'paw' thing....Labs all seem to do it. And also the pushing head under arm thing. At the moment Molly is doing her 'snoring' thing! She can make a fair racket for a tiny dog!
1 Nov, 2010
Yes, he does push his head under my arm, or the paper, and a wet nose into my hand, too!
He (and we) are learning to live with his illness...and still loving him, naturally! :-))
1 Nov, 2010
Well, I'm glad you're getting used to is, but imagine it must be really hard. He is such a beautiful dog B.
1 Nov, 2010
I tell him that all the time! LOL.
1 Nov, 2010
I for one wouldnt be able to resist giving Henry lots of hugs and pats he is so handsome!
1 Nov, 2010
Keep well Henry !
I hope the medication is helping.
2 Nov, 2010
Yes, Hywel, it must be, as he hasn't had any more fits...thank goodness.
Thanks, Pp. He's a lovely boy. :-)))
2 Nov, 2010
Hi Henry so pleased all is going well for you.
2 Nov, 2010
Beautiful eyes, beautiful Henry :) So pleased to hear things are progressing, Spritz. I wonder if Millie has a bit of labrador in her - she nudges and paws for attention too :)
2 Nov, 2010
Carol/Gee - he wags his tail when he hears his name!
Yes, could be. I don't know if other breeds do the same, though. :-)
2 Nov, 2010
such a beautiful dog Spritz, he looks really gorgeous.
2 Nov, 2010
AWwwwwwwwwww lovely Henry u r so gorgeous who could resist petting u ???:D
2 Nov, 2010
I'm please to hear Henry is responding well to his treatment Barbara ., he is so lovely who could possibly resist him ..:o)
2 Nov, 2010
beautiful face bless him...
2 Nov, 2010
I wish you could all meet him - he'd wag his tail at you all! :-))) It hardly ever stops wagging.
2 Nov, 2010
Your mention of Henry's tale wagging reminded me of a dog my nephew got....a black lab "Joey". He hadn't had Joey very long when my dad took us all out on a day trip and of course nothing would do but Terry (the nephew) had to bring Joey along.
I remember my dad trying to drive the car with Joey over the front seat (Joey and all the kids were in the back)...and the old tail was going ten to the dozen and he was licking my dad's almost non-existent hair! It was just impossible to get him to settle and how my dad kept the car on the road I'll never know. Needless to say, Joey didn't get to travel in the car again!
My experience with labs is limited but the ones I have been acquainted with have been of the tail-wagging variety and very affectionate...sound just like Henry :) x
2 Nov, 2010
They have very affectionate natures, that's for sure. It's lovely to see the tail going - it shows he's happy, after all!
We're so lucky that he travels well - he just lies down in the back of the car and stays there until it's time to get out again! :-)))
2 Nov, 2010
In our case, Spritz, I think it was an excitable dog that needed training! Good to hear Henry travels well...that's definitely a plus in my book! :)
2 Nov, 2010
Oh yes, especially when we had to go up to London every weekend when Mum was so ill. That made it a lot easier.
2 Nov, 2010
He's really lovely.
2 Nov, 2010
Thanks. I have to agree with you! :-))))
2 Nov, 2010
x- )) LOL...big hugs, Henry.
2 Nov, 2010
Awwww....Henry. What a beautiful boy. Big hugs and pats from over the pond. x
3 Nov, 2010
Oh that face...a bit special eh? How do you get any work done? You should spend your entire time just worshipping lol:-)
3 Nov, 2010
If he'd stay put, OK, yes! But he ambles off to have a nap in his comfy bed after he considers he's had enough strokes!!!! LOL.
3 Nov, 2010
Men!! :-)
3 Nov, 2010
LOL. He's asking me to take him out at the moment, and I'd better, because clouds are building up fast! :-(
3 Nov, 2010
Enjoy:-)
3 Nov, 2010
We did, thanks, Ba. :-))
3 Nov, 2010
Lovely Henry Barbara...good to see he's wanting walks again...:o)
3 Nov, 2010
He never really stopped, Janey, it was coming with me into the garden that he didn't do any more, but he will with just a little coaxing now. :-)))
3 Nov, 2010
Oh good...:o)
4 Nov, 2010
Oh that Lab look....know it so well.......bless!!
4 Nov, 2010
LOL. Irresistible, isn't it! :-)))))
5 Nov, 2010
It certainly is......ยง:+))
5 Nov, 2010
He's off me at the moment, after a horrible damp walk - I couldn't even let him off, as there were steers in the fields today - an absolute no-no. I expect he'll forget about it soon. :-))
5 Nov, 2010
You asked if other breeds did the same kind of thing Spritz, well, my German Shepard (Duke) could break your heart with a glance and his nose was constantly under my hand waiting for a stroke and a fuss.
Henry is such a gorgeous dog and soooooo playful! Lol
8 Nov, 2010
Beautiful, I sure wouldn't resist...his face reminds me so much of my old dog Shadow only his was black & grey.
Shadow's tail used to go right round in circles when I got home from work every day (after he got done jumping up & down on all fours) It was hilarious...he was almost 10 years old when I quit work too.
He too 'demanded' attention with his head under the arm thing.
8 Nov, 2010
Thanks, Ian and Fh, it must be a 'dog' thing, then. :-))
Henry's whole rear end wags when OH comes in - and he does jump up and down at the front door, as you say - like a Jack-in-a-box ! His head keeps appearing in the glass panel high in the door! LOL.
8 Nov, 2010
If I hold my arm out when sitting on settee, Rosie snuggles against me in an upright position, just like a child. If she's left at home (rarely), on our return, when told "hup", she jumps into my arms from a standing start. Bet Henry can't do that lol or you'd be flat on your back. Meggy just races like a mad thing round the house and is soon joined by Rosie. I don't think you get that sort of welcome from any other animal:-)
8 Nov, 2010
YIKES! I don't think I'll try that, thank you Ba!!!!
He will put his front paws on my knees when aked to -('UP!) for a cuddle and gives my ears a good wash! LOL.
He looks so forlorn if we have to go out and leave him. His ears go down. Awwww.....
8 Nov, 2010
He is such a lovely dog ,pleased to hear he is keeping well.
8 Nov, 2010
Thanks, Mavis - so far, so good. :-)
8 Nov, 2010
Reminds me of the song `Whaddya one a make those eyes at me for` - Emile Ford if I remember rightly. and you do know what they say Spritz your love and care shows in his eyes.Bless him.
8 Nov, 2010
Thank you Stroller. I do remember that song - we're showing our age here, aren't we!
Henry now knows the word 'cuddle'. I ask him if he wants one and he comes and sits by me. I'm not sure which of us enjoys them more! LOL.
9 Nov, 2010
Medication does help loads ,Ollie has got his meiow back after taking his tablets for his bad mouth.
9 Nov, 2010
That's great, Mavis! :-)))
10 Nov, 2010
I can just picture it...LOL (his face appearing in the glass panel)
14 Nov, 2010
It really is funny - never fails to make us laugh! :-D
14 Nov, 2010
I find it funny too that they act like they haven't seen you for months when you come home after a few hours.
14 Nov, 2010
He sits by the front door for most of the time. Then we get a huge welcome! :-)))
14 Nov, 2010
Tucker likes to welcome me by nearly knocking me back out the front door lol...paws up on my chest
14 Nov, 2010
Ouch! lol.
15 Nov, 2010
Big part of the family I should imagine - lovely disposition!
Is Henry going into the garden with you more now?
30 Nov, 2010
Well, he likes to follow me whenever I go across to the greenhouse. He knows that word! Obviously, I'm not working out in the garden at the moment. :-(
