Amazing close up Amy! How incredible that from the hard twig comes this beautiful winter flower...is it scented?

Yes I was wondering that Amy? It looks as if it could have a beautiful scent like the Daphne odora. I have one of those which has grown quite a decent size now & the perfume that wafts from it when it is in bloom is glorious.

Also I have that shrub with TINY white flowers of no significance, but which is very scented
.... & which I forget the name of!!
I must look it up & add it to this.
It is just beginning to come into flower now & I like to bring a few sprigs indoors to scent the room.

Found it - it is; Sweet box (Sarcococcus confusa)

Lovely close-up Amy :-)
We had a couple of trees down in the wood with the strong winds, Robs chopped them all up and now I have a lovely clearing in there, so room for a Witch Hazel which I've wanted for a while and for the Garrya that I bought last autumn, as one door closes another opens yaaay :-)

Rose ,Penny I bought this in a sale 20 years ago it was a little twig almost and didn't have a name tag I didn't know what it was it was for several years until it bloomed helping me to identify it ,it's now approx 10 ft in height it's growing situation is facing North / West Penny there is a Beech tree growing in front of it which probably helps to protect it ....
