This morning I spent 4 hours non-stop up ladders trimming climbers ...
... I'm exhausted now, but my gardening was made even more fun by the cheerful robin, non-stop serenading from up above !

Thanks Muddy ...
Amazing volume and sweet melodies from such a tiny, pretty bird :o)

How nice to have a bright red robin keeping you company in the garden :o)

Thank you Hywel ..
With the bright feathers, I can spot the robin more quickly than trying to find the sparrows ... and the robin's singing makes it even easier to work out which branch he is favouring !

Fabulous photo of your happy Robin in full song, how lovely to be serenaded while hard at work :o)
Ps added to Favs and Goypedia :o)

That's a super picture! I have a robin who often visits our garden especially when I'm gardening, trouble is he's camera shy!
6 Jan, 2015
Hi Waddy ... Thanks .. I hope your robin gets accustomed to your camera, and you're able to take his photo !

Hi Pam ... thank you !
the robin was VERY enthusiastic :o) xxx

Lovely photo Terra. We have a Robin that visits every day for his food. It's lovely to see them back in the gardens again all perky and their song is beautiful.
8 Jan, 2015
lovely pic. surely it's a bit early in the season for birds to be advertising for mates? or was he warning other males off his territory?
8 Jan, 2015
Hi Linda ... nice to have the robins around, isn't it !
Thanks, Fran ...
good point ... lately it seems that the robins, blackbirds, magpies, pigeons and collared doves are all trying to establish their territory !

Wonderfully captured singing its little head off Terratoonie.

Great great great photo Terratoonie. I have a little Red Robin who hops around me when I am gardening. I will have to send him to whistling classes as he has not got a note in his head. I still love him.

That's a fabulous photo Tt....well done!

Thank you Johnjoe ...
robins are such fun to have around aren't they.
Maybe yours will start to sing when the weather warms up !
Thanks Janey ...
The robin does help me by posing nicely !
9 Jan, 2015
It always surprises me just how wide they can open their beaks! Great photo, TT. It's lovely to hear the robin singing at this time of year, a promise of good things to come :)
9 Jan, 2015
What a terrific photo! It's nice to see a robin...I don't think they live here in San Diego. I've never seen one, anyway.
Maybe the parrots terrorize them. lol. :>)
10 Jan, 2015
Thanks Gee and Andy ...
The robin is always singing in early morning, often when it still seems very dark outside !
No parrots here, apart from the budgie indoors ... :o)

I suppose having as many cats as we do doesn't encourage much bird life in the garden, but most autumn and winters I hear (although I rarely see him/her) our resident robin (not really a farmland bird) when I am digging the garden. It has just occurred to me that this is the first year I haven't heard him. It is one of the most beautiful and evocative sounds I can think of; very uplifting and it's making me terribly homesick for the gardens of Cheshire just thinking about it. Your picture is so beautiful, Terra, you must have lurked under the tree with your camera for hours. Thank you so much for sharing.

Thanks Fran and Dotty ...
the robin is still singing every day ... seems to choose higher perches as the year progresses !
12 Apr, 2015
Is he singing again yet? I have heard one a few times already. Well two actually, having a conversation across the garden.
16 Nov, 2015
The robin has been darting around in the wind-blown leaves. Has done some singing, but not yet settled into long vocal sessions ! Lovely to enjoy robins around the garden, isn't it ! :o)
17 Nov, 2015
It really is. He might be small but his song packs a punch.
I think it might be the best song of all of them actually.
