been a lovely day here in Pembrokeshire so i took my camera out in the garden with me….
this is my grow-shed its home to most of our cactus. we took on a huge collection last year and were realy worried as there is no heat in there…we have lost a few things but they have done better than expected..
into the tunel and the tomato and herb seedings are comming on a treat and enjoyed the fresh warm air today……the tent over the succulents gets opened each day to stop them getting soft and leggy…..got very hot in there today and had to open up THREE doors for the first time this year…whoop whoop……
but they are all wrapped up agin now .the tomato seedlings are all sealed up in their chamber with a small gas heater . a taurpaulin over the top a sleeping bag and a double duvet just to be safe….
out in the sunshine i enjoyed a walk around with my mum…
mums conservetory is bursting with more plants…
the new greenhouse is heaven for the aeoniums…i gave a few a bit of water but most were fine. had a few windows opened here too.
im so pleased that most things have survived and that spring is on its way…hope all the snow around the country goes away soon…
happy gardening Sandra..

Boredom. I suffured bordem with the snow. Plants are all ok. Tree ferns should put an apperance in shortly, but on the whole not to bad. Still have not got around to getting heat in the greenhouse, so like your poly tunnel, fleece and bubble wrap.
All though the best thing about the snow was I saw people and even talked to a few as they couldnt go anywhere in there cars.

Hi sandra
You nursery looks great a real treasure trove I love interesting nurseries where people have a passion for plants not just money.
This is what the counrty needs more of.
Your catus collection looks great you obviously love them
Keep up the good work, hope they make it through for you.
we are really busy at the moment
I only have time to go on here because we are at a hotel for 2 nights as we are going to an internet course in wisley tomorrow (dont know why I am on here at 3,30am though I will fall asleep head first on my computor tomorrow about 11.30am lol
then on wednesday I have a committee meeting for the HEA dont know if you know about it but it is a group for people who need helpadvise and contacts when they are doing the shows.
We also are trying to get a higher profile with the public so that they realise that buying form an HEA member(Horticultural Exhibitors Association) means fair price good quality and they can be sure that we know what we are talking about in our field and will only give sound advise. along with many other things.
Then hopefully I can get back to the nursery where I cant work on as yet due to all the frost and cold weather. We ahve so much to do !!!!!
keep in touch say hi to our friends X

I have a Gradening club talk to do thid evening
So I have a few finishing touches to do to the talk.
I like to change the pictures around soI keep it fresh.
but maybe tomorrow I can go on the nursery and do some jobs:)
25 Feb, 2010
i hate doing talks for clubs...id rather them come to my nursery and have a guided tour...last year i had one group bring a picnic including wine, and we sat in my cactus house afterwards and they fed and watered ME...lol... good luck with your talk Vicky..;-)
26 Feb, 2010
Lol Sandra
Sounds lovely I bet they had a lovely time.
I didnt use to like doing the talks either for the first one or two but now I feel really comfortable with, and have really surprised myself.
We do nursery tours and events at the nursery too, which we love doing.
They are usually all very nice people and love anything gardenening.
It went well everyone had a good time and did quite alot of laughing so I think that seemed good :-)
you will like them better once you have done a few more. and your confidence grows:)
