the archway serial!

Well after deciding to keep the archway i set too to make it up, it was easy enough just push the pieces together! making sure i had put the side pieces on the right way round so i had the tubs on the outside of the arch!

I had a bit of a problem putting in the little plastic things that cover holes, so hubby had to do that bit, but after the fog cleared this afternoon and the sun came out i set to to finish putting it together outside

I had to fetch a stool to put the top on and i resorted to a rolling pin and a towel to bash the top on LOL!!! Heaven knows what the neighbours thought!

Its not been levelled or anything yet but thats where its going when i get the earth sorted round it, needs a spirit level on it, hopefully hubby will help at weekend am quite pleased with it now its up though, it will look nice when i get some flowers in either tub, hoping for a clematis, one that doesn’t get too big and maybe a rose the other side. I got some Impatiens (bizzie lizzies) this morning at my local Spar shop!! 10 very nice plants for £2.49, which i thought was pretty good. they are in my little greenhouse until the weather warms up.
Toffee was in the garden with me ‘helping’ !!

Archway looks really good.
You couldn't have built it without Toffee to supervise. Lol.

The arch does look better than you described earlier, I think it looks quite good.
Amazing what a woman can do with a rolling pin!!
Like my old moggie, cats just want to be part of the action.

Toffe is a good helper :o)

It doesn't look plastic! You'll hardly notice it anyway once the flowers are all over. :o)

The arch looks great and will be lovely with your chosen plants climbing all over it. I think Toffee was sleeping on the job :)

looking forward to seeing your arch smothered with climbers...............

That does look nice SK. You've done a good job. Very inventive using the rolling pin!! It's amazing how resourceful we women are. Hope you didn't dent the rolling pin though. You'll have pies with lumps in the pastry. LOL.
Our dogs and cats are always the self appointed supervisors aren't they? :o)

SK, this is exactly the same arch as my "chocolate" one, which started off green like yours. You'll soon have this smothered with climbers. :-)

You did a good job there SK and I,m pleased to see I,m not the only one who finds it easier to raid the kitchen drawer rather than the tool shed occasionally.Looking forward to seeing it planted up,your foreman was most helpful by keeping out the way,........

I like it too, can't wait to see it when you have planted it up!

Toffee is lying on the floor in surrender! "sorry Mom!" " I don't know what I did wrong, but please don't hit me with the rolling pin!!!" "I love you and I'll be a good boy from now on, honest!!!" lol!

It'll look even more lovely once the climbers are up!

Proper job SK. I sometimes level things by eye rather than a spirit level. I've leveled structures all proper and they still dont look right because a crooked tree or sloping wall makes it look odd.

thanks everyone am really pleased with it now, its 'grown' on me!!
I know what you mean Hameryllis, and to be honest the spirit level shows it not quite level but to the eye it looks it, so its been left as it is, tooks us ages LOL
