Snowdrops, snowdrops everywhere!

I went out to work in the garden today and realised just how many places in the garden there are where snowdrops are blooming! I just thought I’d share some of them with you.
Clumps of double ones…
Clumps in the shady border…
In Walter’s corner…
Round the silver birch…
In the wall overlooking the stream…
Round the younger ash tree…
Keeping Euonymus ‘Harlequin’ company…
In the wall with ‘Golden Harlequin’…
…Don’t you just love them!

These are great pics Spritz and the snowdrops look just gorgeous, especially the ones alongside the stream, what a beautiful place to have them.

Love to see snowdrops en-mass like that. At this time of year they bring 'instant colour' to the garden.

These look great and so many in so many different areas. Set my 100 bulbs at the weekend, I see what you mean about getting them In The Green - they look like they've always been there :-)

Hi, your snowdrops are super. They must have been in a long while to have soo many big clumps. Well done.
17 Feb, 2009
Wonderful......you have got a lot there, they obviously like your soil.
19 Feb, 2009
thats a lot of snowdrops hope mine spread like that!
19 Feb, 2009
I have to admit that many of them were planted by our predecessors, but I do split clumps and plant them elsewhere, and they do spread, too - so there are more every year! I love them!

After seeing your pictures, my mum has given me a nice big clump, so I'm going to pop some under my apple trees and see where they go!
20 Feb, 2009
Good! Make sure you split them up when you plant them - they'll soon spread. I 'rescued' the odd ones that had spread out about 4' from the main clumps round the ash tree, and I've planted them in another area. They'd have been run over by the mower, otherwise!

I DO love them, Spritz ! The Scottish Snowdrop Festival is in full swing here, and can't get enough - looks like you could have the equivalent right there, in your garden. Wonderful !

Wow! You must feel so uplifted as you walk around your garden Spritz? - I do this morning just sharing your photos of them! I hope the few I have will eventually spread like this.

26 Feb, 2009
They will... and you can always split a clump now or when the flowers fade, to help the process along!
