STUNT DOUBLE

Pamg is sending Crocus budgie a lovely new hat …

… something to protect his punk feathers hairstyle …

… but Crocus is 9 years old …

… he’ll need a STUNT DOUBLE for outdoor photos

……………………………………………………………………..

But who will volunteer ?

Sparrows ? …

‘Sorry, mate … my head is too tiny for titfers’

…………………………………………………………………….

Pigeons ? …

‘No way … hats don’t suit me. I’m too chubby’

……………………………………………………………………..

Step forward … Tweety Pie !

……………………………………………………………………..

Have hat, will travel !

…………………………………………………………………….

To the front garden feature

……………………………………………………………………..

Around the pretty primroses

……………………………………………………………………..

Below the hellebores

……………………………………………………………………..

Over the heathers

……………………………………………………………………..

Hey, more primroses !

…………………………………………………………………….

Among the tiarellas

…………………………………………………………………….

Above the raised bed

……………………………………………………………………..

Climbing the Coronilla … a head for heights !

……………………………………………………………………..

Disappearing act in Magic Marlot

……………………………………………………………………..

But .. ‘Stop filming !’ says Tweety …

’What’s that I taw ?’

……………………………………………………………………..

‘I tawt I taw a Sheltie dog’

……………………………………………………………………..

‘I did … I taw a Conker dog !’

…………………………………………………………………….

‘No worries … let the cameras roll …’

’We’re such good friends you see’ :o)))

Always know I'm going to be smiling with your blogs terra. Hope tweetie didn't find those heather flowers too tickly! :))))

Thanks, Karen ...
that conifer was a bit prickly for Tweety ;o)))

19 Feb, 2014

WOOO ! as always a smashing blog and there he is, Conker so beautiful x

19 Feb, 2014

Yes I agree it is a smashing blog..
Now a question...
How come I have many of the same shrubs and flowers and yet mine are still looking a tad mudsplattered and bedraggled after all the treatment they've had in the past few weeks and yours look so pristine, do you have a team of garden elves going around with the spit and polish just before you appear with the camera, lol........

19 Feb, 2014

Good question Sue - I'm waiting to hear how its done too.
That blue and green heuchera is amazing - never seen that one before.
Do you have the name of your double hellebore please? I have one without a label.
Where does Conker find all that sunshine for you when our gardens are all soggy?

19 Feb, 2014

Ha! Ha! :0)

19 Feb, 2014

I do like Crocus's punk hairstyle - very Hissing Sid! Glad he didn't have to brave the big outdoors - all the previous stars have standins :) Conker looks fabulous, as neat and pristine as your garden - I'd like to know how you do it too. Do you have a big umbrella over your garden?

19 Feb, 2014

Tweety you certainly know how to entertain us :)
I'm afraid I have too mention the fact that everything looks immaculate TT, so unfair :(
Does the Heuchera have a name perchance.

19 Feb, 2014

Well done Gee there is a definite likeness with the hairstyle, bet Crocus is more amiable though, Conkers coat is always immaculate, you must spend ages brushing it Terra....

19 Feb, 2014

Wow TweetyPie how smart are you in your bonnet flitting around your lovely garden phew glad you found your best friend Crocus is lucky to have double like you x
:o)

19 Feb, 2014

:o))) What a cheerful blog :o)

19 Feb, 2014

I agree Hywel..........we all need cheering up don't we? Brilliant TT as usual. (have you seen the new advert with the budgie & cat singing (you're all I need'), to each other, it's for freeview tv ?)

19 Feb, 2014

Is it just me, or does Tweety look miffed...maybe at the modelling schedule, whilst Crocus gets the star treatment? ;-)

20 Feb, 2014

Ohh Terra what a lovely blog.....and you made the little bonnet look reallly good!
I wondered what you would do with the bobbles. :0)

Thanks folks for your wonderful comments ...
I couldn't keep my gardens tidy without my garden helpers ... Conker and Truffle ... they are very enthusiastic about working with their brooms, spades and mowers.

Photo eleven is actually Tiarella Iron Butterfly, so I've updated the caption.

The job-sharing between Crocus and Tweety Pie has gone very well so far ... not too many feathers ruffled ;o)

20 Feb, 2014

20 Feb, 2014

As always, TT, you know how to make us all smile & have a little chuckle at the same time!

I have to admit that I found your garden amazing as well! No one would ever imagine that to be a real garden - no signs of weather damage & all your plants look immaculate! :-))

Where do you get the inspiration for your blogs? They really are most interesting!

So good to see both Crocus, the budgie, as well as Conker looking so healthy & radiant!

Our two budgies, Bobby & Rubi send tweet to Crocus & Tweetypie! :-))

20 Feb, 2014

I'm guessing you have no marauding sparrow hawks other wise "Tweety Pie" will just be "Pie"? :-))

Like the Blog as always

22 Feb, 2014

Thank you Sandra ...
Tweetie has a British flag ... all ready for a future royal occasion ;o) x

Hi Tubby ... Thanks ...
Predators overhead are not a problem ...
.. those woollen bobbles are specially designed to look like huge round eyes ... guaranteed to scare off the bravest birds of prey ...
So, no supper for the Sparrowhawks ...
... no pie for the Magpies ;o)

22 Feb, 2014

I do enjoy your blogs Terra, they always bring a smile. Your garden as always looks immaculate and I love Tweetie's hat, so beautifully made and displayed, and Conker looking his best too.

22 Feb, 2014

I agree the garden looks lovely ~ its the colours that get me! magic :-)

22 Feb, 2014

Thanks Jaykaty and Tubby ...
Tweety is still wearing his hat ... won't take it off !

Next month Conker will be ten years old ... amazing, after all that life-saving chemo treatment five years ago ...

My eyesight isn't all that strong, so I'm inclined to include a certain amount of bright colours in my gardens. I'm pleased you like them .. thank you :o)

22 Feb, 2014

This blog put a smile on my face on a rather glum damp day!your garden is looking beautiful with lots of colour and a very healhy looking Conker and Crocus;0)

22 Feb, 2014

Have 5 years passed already since his life saving chemo treatment? It seems almost like last week! I'm so glad for you both that he pulled through! I remember how worried we all were - almost as if he were our very own dog, instead of yours! :-)) I'm always so pleased to see him in your blogs!

24 Feb, 2014

Thanks so much Flori ...
It was very kind of Tweety Pie to stunt double for Crocus during the outdoor filming ...
.. and very clever of Pam to make such a super hat ! xxx

28 Feb, 2014

Your blogs ae always a ray of sunshine, TT, and this was no exception! loved Tweetie, loved the hat, and Conker was polite enough to pick Tweetie up by his branch, not his head!

28 Feb, 2014

Thank you Fran ... very kind ...
I decided NOT to test out how Truffle would pick up Tweety :o)

28 Feb, 2014
