Memories of St Lucia

When we both retired a few years ago, we had the holiday of a lifetime, and went to St Lucia.
At this cold rather grey time of year I think a splash of much needed colour is required so here goes!!!
The words will be few as I think the pictures alone will be enough. Most were taken in the grounds of the East Winds Hotel which was like paradise at the end of a bumpy, potholey track!!
These first three pictures are here to set the scene, now I will add some of the wonderful flowers.
The tropical colours and vegetation were all around and it was truly lovely there.
The rain forest was wonderful to see also.
Everything was on a massive scale – huge ferns, tall trunks and stunning waterfalls.
These later pictures show the well known Piton Mountains against the skyline, our bathroom window featuring the Pitons again and one of the best signposts I have ever seen!
Would I like to be there right now – what a silly question!
Here’s to the next time – if only in my dreams!

What a beautiful place,Chris..the colours of everything are so vibrant.love that sign too :o) ..At least we had something in common today..the blue sky...but it didn't look as good as this near Bradford..Lol..but the Garden centre there made the cold air bearable ..

Stunning scenery, and those flowers (and cocktails!) are such cheery bright colours. What a wonderful holiday :o)

Oh, ah! st Lucia....we were there this time last year wild rose....I do love it so much.....but too hot to live in! Thank you for reminding me....and I'm so happy to see a good rum punch too! Now, if I remember rightly, you need Rum, orange/pineapple juice, grenadine syrup, Cointreau/apricot brandy, a dash of lime and topped up with lemonade. Summer in a glass.

Well, you never know Chris! You may get there again one day. I loved that sign , especially" GOD "pointing upwards! The photos are stunning and it was a good idea to show it now. Cheers us all up, especially now we are going to see some snow! x

What a wonderful holiday Chris . . . ooh, how I'd love to be there too. Thanks for sharing: that stunning Bougainvillea is temptation enough!

I'm not sure if this is balm or torture, Chris - it's like waving a large glass of ice cold beer just out of reach of a man dying of thirst in the desert.......... Beautiful pictures, though.

It was worth doing from my point of view because for a short while this afternoon I was really there all over again!
But now I realise that I'm not!!!

Absolutely stunning Chris, it doesn't look real, more like a dream. I love watching Death In Paradise with Ben Miller, set in a similarly beautiful place, I love it. It's amazing to think that there are such places on Earth, thanks for showing us these pics and feel free to show us more should the urge come upon you:-))
