I hate this sort of news as I'm sure it upsets me as much as it does you. I agree with the others that having given him a happylife with you that is the best that anyone can do and I'm sure that if there is a doggie heaven he will be looking down on you with gratitude and love.

My deepest sympathies, I lost my best friend (lil man - a cat) the week before Mother's Day last spring...so I do understnd your loss....He will be back, you will see or feel him I am sure!!!! =^..^=

Thank you all so much for all your expressions of sympathy. Hendrix is probably grinning from ear to ear and indeed doing all the things he enjoyed on earth without the pain he had before the end.

Sorry to have missed this, what a lovely old boy he was and what a great grin. I hope you are feeling better by now, it's so sad to see them suffer isn't it.

Just spotted this Gg and like Jacque it brought a lump to my throat. He looks like such a happy boy so you obviously cared for him well. My best friend Dylan is 12 this year and means the world to me. I'm glad you are feeling better ....love and best wishes xx

Oh Gardengnome! I'm so tardy. I only found this today and it just breaks my heart. lovely Hendrix looked so like my Mandy. Mandy is reaching her final stages too. My husband and I are dreading the day but I fear it is not far away

Hi again! Our darling old Mandy lived another year, she died June of 2011, as the poets say, full of years! Your pics of Hendrix brought a tear... We have not found another dog to fill her spot, but we adopted a kitten in 2012 who is a dear, funny cats' cat...named him Rufus. He's 13 lbs. of gray fluff and we dote on him. Do you have another dog?

Oh Lori, I'm so sorry to hear about Mandy. Hope you joy with your cat. I am currently "grandma" to my son's dog whose name is Bojay. He's quite a character but he's no Hendrix.
