Thank you, Oji. I have enjoyed doing it but am glad it's more or less finished for now. My knees ache and I've bruises up my leg where I pushed the spade in to lift the turf :)

What a difference all that hard work has made Gee, the visitors obviously approve.
Will you do another blog please when your new shrubs and plants are in, its so great to see how make-overs turn out.

i`ve also been following you through with this and must say you have worked hard and its looking great, the veg beds look good and will be so easy to get at, I like the new curved beds as well, now you have the pleasure of choosing and planting, its given a whole new look to the whole garden.
How lovely to know the ducks trust your garden enough to have their nests in it, I hope we get to see some ducklings in a few weeks..
Well done Gee, as usual the photo`s are lovely...

Thank you all. I have already bought a few plants, some of which are safely tucked in the greenhouse until the weather is more reliable :) I will certainly post some more pics when the borders look more like flower beds!

Well done Gee...the garden looks great and will only get better as the weather warms up...:>)
27 Feb, 2012
Very nice! If I'd had those visitors I'd have had to stop gardening to play with them! :o)
28 Feb, 2012
Just the weather for such a busy project Gee. I'm glad the ducks approve. They are so laid back about all the goings on, they even nested and laid an egg or two......amazing. So wonderful when wild creatures share our gardens.
28 Feb, 2012
What a fantastic job you have done.Well done.Do you fancy coming and doing mine now lol.:))))
28 Feb, 2012
Think I'll pass on that, Mark :) I am still walking like a banana after all the digging and lifting!
Thanks for the comments, friends, the ducks arrived as usual this morning so I presume another egg laid. Tried to peep into the nest when she had gone but all covered up with leaves, etc. Fingers crossed we don't get any really cold weather.
28 Feb, 2012
Ooooh Gee the banana walk - who hasn't experienced and winced at that recent addition made by the Ministry of Silly Walks (yet oh so painful) ....
Brilliant blog tho' :o)

It's a lovely design now. It's going to look great in the summer. I like the veg boxes too.
28 Feb, 2012
Love the veggie boxes they will be so useful and your garden is really taking shape now, once planted up with some colour later on it will be a delight.
28 Feb, 2012
I'm not surprised you're a 'bit stiff bannana' Gee, after all that bending and lifting. I knelt down yesterday to put screws in a cabinet. Ouch!........ when I got up this morning. Worth all the aches to admire your handiwork and feel pleased with youself, later on, when everything is growing and looking good.

I am having a 'pottering' day today, Dorjac sown a few seeds in the greenhouse, planted up the freebie rose and generally taken it easy! Went bowling last night and that loosened me up too :) I am really enjoying the sunshine - hope you are having some too.
29 Feb, 2012
Hoping for sunshine today Gee, sun out as I type. Planning to go to Hyde Hall RHS garden today about 26 miles away. Probably the gentle action of regular bowling is enough to keep you a bit more flexible than me.

I think your garden looks really great, i love the design and curving edges, it all gives so much interest to the garden and makes it look bigger and the selection of trees and shrubs is really lovely, also like the veg boxes which is a great idea, enjoyed you blog and think it is a really cracking garden, cant wait to see it in the summer, well done with all your hard work.

Hope you had a good day out, Dorjac. I've had a day out too, a 5 mile walk round Canterbury with my daughter and our dogs. We have come home very tired :)
Thanks Cazcat, I have bought lots of new plants although most are too small to plant out yet. I am really looking forward to the planting sessions.

All your hard work really works, i like the way you've done your lawn i wish i had the guts to do something similarI can't wait to see it in the summer months, with all your curvy borders and interesting corners. I would love to have ducks come visit mine instead of pesky squirrels..

This is the first ducks nest, now there is a second one. Good day out at Hyde Hall but not really a lot to see. Just good to get out and walk about a little. I have a project lined up for a raised circle at the bottom of the garden thats been taken over by an invasive Alium and a geranium. Spray it with Round Up then cover with weed guard fabric and chippings.
9 May, 2012
I hope it's the last one to nest too, Dorjac, they are rather messy and have puddled several places on the back lawn. Glad you managed to get to Hyde Hall. I walked in the woods again this morning and regretted it - so muddy it was hard to walk. It has just started to rain again and the wind is picking up too. I like the sound of your raised circle. Will you use it as a platform for some of your potted plants?
9 May, 2012
That's the intention Gee. I really want a chimenera (metal) in the centre or one of those round fire thingies. I want to burn some paperwork in a clear out I am planning, just a bit at a time. Some pots round the edge. Jack will have a fit if I get either item....so a it's a sneaky job and fete accompli or something like that.
10 May, 2012
I do like those raised wooden beds: were they bouight, or custom made? the only ones I've been able to find online have only been about six inches high
