I'm back :)

Sorry for the long absence. I have had a bit of a worrying time re: health issues but on Monday discovered it was nothing serious. A great sign of relief all round. I have been frantically working in the garden to stop myself thinking too much and taking long, long walks in the woods with Millie to tire myself out. My family and I have been out for a meal this evening to celebrate my good fortune and now I will relax a little.
I will do a blog soon to show the progress in the garden and the new plants I have collected.
In the meantime, I hope you are all well and will catch up with your news/blogs soon. Just a couple of photos of the bluebells in the woods for now – seeing them flourish over the last weeks has been somehow very comforting :)

You have had some good walking weather recently Gee and the bluebells are really lovely. They give a wonderful haze of blue and the perfume is a delight. Very pleased to hear you had good health news. We have been through this grinding mill time after time since 2009. OH not me, so far, but it is very distracting and gardening does help too.

Thank you all for your very kind welcome back. It has rained heavily here today for the first time in ages so I am taking the opportunity to stay indoors and do some catching up.
No ducks in my garden this year, Scotsgran, I don't think they like my lawn-less back garden. They may be nesting next door though. Unfortunately we have a very predatory cat living nearby now so hopefully they are all nesting somewhere safe.

Lovely spring days now for Millie walking Gee. Those pussy cats are a nuisance. I looked up from meal preparation to see 2 almost identical tortoiseshell cats having a thrill a minute bird watching vigil. One on the wall and the nervous one lurking under the bushes. Poor birds will not go near the feeders with these 2 lady cats lurking. Are torties more bird addicted then other shades of cat?

We had a long walk this morning, Dorjac, up in the woods for about 2 hours. Millie has slept since we returned home! Our monster cat is grey, very pretty but a real menace. He killed numerous ducklings last year and lots of the folk in the retirements flats complained to the owner and suggested that they put a bell on it. Not sure if that has helped or not, he is still on the prowl and I have found him in my garden once or twice. Millie does not like cats so I have to make sure I chase him off before she sees him lurking in the bushes.

Very pleased to hear from you again Gee. Great news about your health problems not being too serious. Your bluebell woods are very special. Thank you for sharing. I have just posted photos of ducks and was wondering if yours are back in your garden this year.
