Shall I blame GoY or TT?

Or was it just another senior moment?

I’ve only had brief snatches on GoY over the last week so I have been trying to catch up today without much success. I finally got around to reading TT’s latest blog about ‘gnominating your Gnomes, Ophiopogon, and Sausage Trees’.

Well, I thought, I haven’t any gnomes but when I got to Ophiopogon I thought: ’I’ve got one of those, Amy sent it to me!‘. I knew I had posted a photograph of it but couldn’t remember when so I searched and searched for it, tried a word search but still couldn’t find it. After some considerable time I located it – Hurrah – so I gnominated it as TT requested. The reason I couldn’t easily find it was because I had put it under ‘black grass’ – perhaps I couldn’t spell Ophiopogon at the time!

Then I returned to TT’s blog to let her know. I got as far as typing ‘I haven’t any gomes or sausage trees…..’ and then I remembered……

I had put sausages on to cook at lunchtime to put in a sausage and onion quiche for tomorrow – and it was now 3.30pm!! I dashed to the kitchen and my keen sense of smell told me immediately I was too late! Burnt offerings is an understatement – the sausages were so well done they were brittle!

Well, I suppose I can tell TT that I still have gno gnomes to gnominate but that I now have both Ophiopogon and a sausage tree!

I hope ham quiche is OK for the family tomorrow!

Two additional photos gnow added at TT’s request – original black dog plus gnon-grass plant and gnon-gnome, gnamed Gnorman !!

I think iit was more of a 'gnonense' answer, TT, as I have just remembered a character lurking at the back of one of my borders. He gnot a real gnome but may be gnon-gnome!

12 Mar, 2010

Gnever one to say gno, TT, I have just gone into the garden, braving rain, darkness and fowl friends (!) to take the photo for you. Gno trouble! Gno reason gnot to!!

Black grass pic was posted months ago but once found, and while my sausages burned, I gnominated it so it should come up for you sometime :)

Gnon-gnome photo will follow gnow!

12 Mar, 2010

Was hoping you would add the black grass pic to this blog also please ???
I've already put it on GoYpedia Ophiopogon... :o)

12 Mar, 2010

Sorry to spoil the party but strictly speaking, ophiopogon is not a grass, it's a member of the lily family

12 Mar, 2010

So, should David gnot include Ophiopogon on GoYpedia Grasses ?

12 Mar, 2010

Gnot gnuilty !!! :o)

You lot are gnuts :)))
The sausage tree is brill not a lot else you could have done with it lol. Why does cooking always get in the way ?
The common name for ophiopogon is turf lily so that must be why we connect it to grass (turf).Though it does look more like a grass than a lily and the leaves are more useful than the short lived tiny flowers anyway :)

Love the sausage tree Gee...lol! ;o)))

Very good we need some light relief and it seems Goyers are blessed with funny bones. At least the sausages would have been low fat if anybody had dared to eat them! Sue

18 Mar, 2010

I reckon you should make a plaster cast of your sausage tree and hang it in the garden, this has got to be the funniest blog this year, I had to go and make a cuppa before I could reply to you Gee, the tears are still running. Thanks to you and all that contributed.

18 Mar, 2010
