Spring fever...

At last, everything is starting to come into flower…I think we have all been waiting patiently for the official arrival of spring today..so, blessed with sunshine and warmth,it was time to get out with the camera..
firstly,my Camellia..unknown variety,as it was given to me by my Neighbour..can you believe he didn’t want it ? I almost snatched it from him :o)

Taken last night..and no,that isn’t the moon…it’s my neighbours light.:o)

Primula Denticulata…my favourite spring plant..This has taken a couple of years to get established..

i still like the white ones best…

Chionodoxa ,I think..another gift from a friend..I find this colour hard to capture close up..but it could be my incompetence ! Lol.

Daffodil..Jetfire..new this year..I tried to lie down to get a shot inside the trumpet, but the gravel garden had no mercy !

Tete a tete…

Viola’s looking decent at last..I almost pulled them up,as they haven’t looked good all winter..but they are redeeming themselves..

It felt so good to be out there today, and I’m sure you agree,it really lifts the spirits..

Oh, it's such a joy to see all the plants coming to life! Lots of lovely plants there, Bloomer. I really like the combination of the white primula with the blue chionodoxa.

Thank you,Scottish..My lilac ones never did much at all,..I have some small ones which have seeded, but I will have to wait and see which colour they are..hope it's the deep purple one..I love that one too.

That Camellia is lovely Bloomer. Is it in a pot? Jetfire are my favourite Daffs, not too tall and very striking :o))

20 Mar, 2012

thanks Annella..no,it is planted in a border..although it did start its life in a pot,but it did much better when I planted it out..I like the Jetfire too..a half price bargain at a GC..so I just had to have them ,didn't I ? Lol..good decision:o)

I have the wrong soil here but think I will try potting a Camellia, and at half price there is no excuse not to buy them or any other Daff come to think about it! (not that we need one Lol) x

really beautiful Bloomer - the joys of Spring - I loooooooove it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

20 Mar, 2012

My soil isn't the right one either,Annella..but I have added lots of ericaceous in that bed,so it is fine..I also have a Pieris ,next to it,which always does well too..plenty of top dressing every year,no problem..:o)

Cheers Paul..you already know how long I have waited for the Camellia to flower ..at last :o) I looooove it too :o)

Can't believe you didn't plan the chinodoxia against the primula - its a combination to die for. Can't resist blue and white together. I have anemone blanda under magnolia stellata but not many this year - I think I must have killed some when I was weeding earlier.

Wow Bloomer that Camellia is gorgeous, I`d have done the same thing if I had a neighbour like that, I appear to only have the purple denticulata this year, I think my whites have gone walkabout yet again, I must get the pink its a lovely colour..
Love the combination planting, the blue and white looks grand together and so pleased you didn`t get rid of the violas, they are doing well now..
Lovely photo`s Bloomer..

Glad you like it,Steragram..they do look good together..I think it was when I split the Primula's,and planted some there..just lucky I guess..as there was no sign of the Chionodoxa at the time :o) I love Anemone blanda too..and know what you mean about the weeding ! I do that a lot..Lol.
