If celebrities can do it,so can I.Lol..
New pot on today, and so much lighter..I was given a choice,so chose purple..my favourite, both in and out of the garden..just to show it seems to have forgiven me from dropping it from waist height, even though it landed on my arm…unconditional love,it seems :o)

Oh well, only four more weeks to go..:o(

Thank goodness the plant is looking good Sandra - oh yes - your new purple pot is very good too! I'm going to admit that I've never heard a cast being called a pot! ... :o)

O.M.G. You will go to any lengths to turn heads LOL
Seriously though pleased to hear they have put you a lighter version on it will be easier to cope with, but I will have to wear my shades next time we meet up ;0)

Very attractive Sandra, the plant looks good as well, it certainly came off better than your poor arm.....

27 May, 2014

Never heard of a cast being called a pot either. We call it a stookie (rhymes with spooky) here in Edinburgh.
It will be off before you know it bloomer.

People call them pots here too. The plant looks very healthy at any rate. In my daughter's partner's home in France, he has a Jade plant which is about 3 ft tall and it looks spectacular. It goes out for the Summer and comes in for the Winter, which I guess is what you were doing with yours, Bloomer.

Oh Sandra - you old show off !! Love the colour. Just take care, and let Russell do all the work for now. Sorry Russell, you know you love it really. You will soon be good as new Sandra.

Glad you are happy the plant is ok,Shirley, one has to get ones priorities right !lol.It must be a Northern expression,as everyone calls a cast,a pot..even the Doctors,,and who am I to disagree ? :o)'
........
Ha ha,Carole,no show without Punch,as they say..it matches my glasses..and you have no doubt read the poem,"when I am old,I shall wear Purple " :o)..joking apart,it feels so much better to be able to move my fingers..We called in the local for a sandwich afterwards, and I managed much better than last Thursday.when we met you and Harry..:o)
...........
I thought so,Sue..a girl has to look the best she can, given the circumstances..:o) My Jade plant is a toughie, isn't it? good job really...
.........
I haven't heard that one before,Scottish..all local dialects it seems..I'm sure the time will go quickly enough, but now it's more manageable,it will get easier..
........
Hurrah,another northerner who calls it a pot ! :o)
I think my plant has been that size at some point in it's long life,T.bear, but I keep trimming it back..it doesn't seem to have suffered at all,and taken lots of cuttings for friends and charity days..I lift it out almost every day in summer,if it's suitable, but bring it in at night..unless it's really hot weather..erm,it hasn't been out since the incident :o)
...........
Lol,Cinders..if you've got it,flaunt it ! aren't I the lucky one, that Russell actually likes housework ? suits me just fine..glad you approve of the colour..although it does look more blue on the photo,I think..

Its a pot in Staffs. Our two year old broke his arm once. He was being harassed by one of the older lads who was a bit of a bully and Paul cracked him a good one with his cast. No more trouble with the bully ever again!
When it finally came off he started complaining bitterly "I WANT MY POT.."
So you know how to defend yourself Sandra! I've never seen a cast with a swanky cover before - prevents people signing thier names on it.

27 May, 2014

We call it a pot too Sandra ! At least by the time it is off, summer should be here and this rain should have stopped!

28 May, 2014

I've heard it called a pot, and a cast.....

if you've got it flaunt it xxx

28 May, 2014

Its very fetching Bloomer just make sure you behave yourself, with an arm that colour you`ll be easily recognised.

28 May, 2014

Lol,Sue,good on Paul for making good use of his pot.!.I did something similar when I was seven, and I was the new kid on the block..took his toy gun from him,and hit him over the head with it.. no more problems .:o) The purple cover is actually the plaster..It looks like the old style crepe bandage, which is soaked in cold water first, then wrapped around over a stockinette fabric ,then moulded to shape..It sets in approx 30 minutes,to a rock hard finish..clever stuff eh?..he then proceeded to give it a rub down with a sandpaper type thingy,as it is quite rough..and it stops it catching on your clothing or skin..I almost felt like asking him to exfoliate the rest of me :o))

28 May, 2014

Ah another Northener.Rose.. :o) I hope so,as it's pouring today, but we have been very lucky so far..looks to have been pretty bad your way..full on sunshine for you and Rick before long though :o)
............
Well ,you are in the Midlands Pam,so you have the choice of either name lol ..I'm going out on Saturday night,to a family do,so I shall be wearing a top with purple tones,to colour co-ordinate :o)
........
Thanks Stroller..it will make a change from staying in the background..which I would much prefer..no hiding place with this colour,is there? although I could have gone for the shocking pink,if I had really wanted to make a statement !..one little boy, aged about ten did :o)

28 May, 2014

Very fetching Bloomer and now I know what a Jade plant looks like! a healthy specimen and the pot (Jade's) must be a toughy too no chips or cracks good job you broke it's fall eh?! sandpaper exfoliation doesn't appeal I must say good job you resisted lol take care x :o)

28 May, 2014

Lol,Neellan..come on..you didn't really think I could have lifted that pot if it had been genuine pottery, did you ? the Jade/Money or Crassula,to give it it's proper name,if we are being posh here,is heavy enough on it's own..well over 20 years old,and obviously a tougher old bird than me !:o) give or take a few years..Lol.. xxx

28 May, 2014

Woops silly me, I have seen the plant before even had one but hadn't heard of a Jade plant, you obviously take care of it - usually lol
Hope your purple wrist is not giving you too much trouble

28 May, 2014

Had a giggle at the idea of the doc exfoliating you Sandra...

28 May, 2014

It might just be me that calls it that,Neellan...and the chafing feels a bit easier this morning, thanks to good old Vaseline round the edges..:o)..on me,not the plant ! Lol..

29 May, 2014

I might take a Brillo pad with me on my next visit,Sue,and see if he can work wonders..:o)..It would save NHS resources..Lol..

29 May, 2014

I hope so Sandra ! I won't be too happy if the rain follows us ! Hahaa!

29 May, 2014

Hope you don't need a black bin bag Mac,Rose :o) we needed one today..but at least it was dry in the pub at lunchtime Lol.

29 May, 2014

:o)

29 May, 2014

Sandra dear! You just took me back to my high school days when I had one up to my shoulder for 12 weeks (skateboard wipeout). I never got the purple option however that's the color my fingers turned peeking out from the end like yours. I got the standard white. I hope for a speedy recovery.

30 May, 2014

Ooh very fetching Bloomer. Glad the plants ok.

4 weeks will soon fly by. Hope it doesn't give you too much trouble in the meantime.

30 May, 2014

Ouch,Paul, that must have been painful..ft would put a stop to your skateboarding, and everything else for a while,I guess..I think the colour choices are fairly recent, and at least they look cleaner than those white ones, which look horrible after a few days, and they don't seem as bulky...speaking from experience,as this is my 5th during my life ! I was a very clumsy kid..nothing changed huh? thanks for your good wishes...it's still taking me ages to type..but I've nothing much else I can do..so it keeps me entertained at the moment :o)x

31 May, 2014

Thank you Sam..love the colour, but would prefer NOT to be wearing it :o).luckily the plant was ok,no plaster needed !..four weeks isn't too long, and luckily,we aren't going on holiday till a lot later on,so should be fine by then..:o)

31 May, 2014

Hi Sandra ..
I hope you are healing well. xxx

4 Jun, 2014

Hi Terra,
Thank you,I am coping much better now..still a lot of things I can't manage, which is frustrating, but I can still do some gardening..an old sock over my plaster, takes the place of a glove..just to keep it clean,mainly..and I can take off my glove on my right hand,by standing on the finger bits, and tugging :o) xx

4 Jun, 2014

Hi Sandra ..
Glad you are able to tackle some garden tasks.
Old sock and standing on finger bits ???
very enterprising !

I've put a fencing blog on GoY ... showing the first fence section now done. I was able to construct it without straining my shoulder too much. :o) xxx

How are you feeling today Sandra? It's such a beautiful sunny morning here in New York. We had a few showers during the night so the air is so fresh and clean and the garden is very happy. It's so nice just go outside and poke around. There is a Robin's nest in my yard with one fledgling who's just spreading his wings (I'm sure there were two or three originally) and he follows momma around as she hunts for earthworms. Every time I get ready to snap their picture, they fly off over the hedge and I could hear what sounds like laughing from three yards away. LOL! silly birds!

4 Jun, 2014

I'm fine,Paul, thank you..A mainly showery day here, but not as bad as expected..How lovely to watch the young Robin, taking instructions from it's mother..:o).maybe you will get a photo, before it flies away to make it's way in the world :o) just sent you a PM..take care..

4 Jun, 2014

Ay up, sorry to be so late commenting on your arm ornament Sandra ...if anyone else is interested in one now that Bloomer has set the fashion world alight ...B.A. Fashions have them in all colours at a very reasonable price:-))

8 Jun, 2014

Lol,Ba..I was expecting you to comment before now,in pursuit of customers..some business woman you turned out to be ! :o).Take no notice folks, they are free at A & E,with a choice of four colours..almost worth breaking your wrist for...I shan't be contributing to your Pension fund,or another trip to Paris.!! ha ha xx

8 Jun, 2014

Flippin' cheek:-))

8 Jun, 2014

Well,if you put it like that ! ...I might have a rethink..would you be interested in a 'only worn once' purple one,for your 'Bargain of a lifetime, never to be repeated' sale event day? ..available in a couple of weeks,to a lucky punter..slightly damaged stock..i.e convenient slit from top to bottom ..Blu tack supplied for easy fastening..:o)

8 Jun, 2014

The colour suits you Sandra and how very neat it looks. Glad that it is less heavy than the first one but what a nuisance it must be!
I trust the slippers are only being worn at bedtime! Mine aren't !!
xx

9 Jun, 2014

It is a nuisance,Chris, but only two more weeks to go now..and the slippers ?? not telling ! Lol...suffice to say,I'm not gardening in them..lesson learned..

10 Jun, 2014

All this pot thing is new to me, I had no idea what you were talking about lol, I thought you meant the plant pot!! so that made me think there was something wrong with the colour.......so after I had read a few replies I realised it is what we call a cast in the Midlands and the South...
I hope you have learned a lesson!! we have a money plant about the same size and it is so heavy (in a ceramic pot) and it goes out all summer, and comes in when the weather turns chilly...they are toughies , luckily for you lol

29 Jun, 2014

We all seem to have our own descriptions ,don't we? Glad you fathomed it out.Angela.. .Lol..I had just nicely repotted the money plant,as it definitely needed it,so it was quite heavy, after giving it a good soaking...wet muck all over the patio..not good ! A good reason for OH to get the pressure washer out :o).

30 Jun, 2014

I don't think we could get ours out of the pot, it could certainly do with repotting..

1 Jul, 2014

You will be shocked at we have done to this poor plant over the years,Angela..! It has had it's bottom sawn off three times, and sawn off around the sides too, like a Kebab ! Lol.The only way we could get some new compost around it,and keep it in the same outer planter...Maybe that's why it's flowered a few times..so stressed ,or trying to please..:o) Cruel to be kind,is my excuse..
