A Few Primula Auricula

As my Primula Auricula are all coming out now I thought it would be easier to do my pictures in a blog form. So if you would like to see them here goes. Unfortunately I do not have the names of the majority, but the first one is Powder Puff.
These were sent by Scotkat. Thanks Kath. Love the gingery one.
These are some of my new doubles, not quite out, except the yellow which is Lincoln Bullion.

Lovely cinders...the first and second ones are my favourites. I like their soft colours. :))

My, what a collection! I think my favourite is Powder Puff, although it is difficult to single one out, and they complement eachother beautifully.

I am so pleased that you all like my auricula.
Louisa that yellow one is beautiful, and quite prolific, so hoping to take a few cuttings of that.
Thanks SL. Its another new one for me.
Karen and Xela, the Powder Puff one is very delicate isnt it, as is the one next to it, but I have no name for that unfortunately.

Beautiful display and lovely colours,Cinders..I like the Powder Puff, and the pale lemon on the next photo down..do you bring them in for the winter,or leave them in your containers? ..so pretty, all of them :o)

Hello Sandra, glad you like them, most I leave out in their containers, although I do give them a little protection sometimes so they dont get waterlogged, but my small double ones are in my plastic greenhouse for winter. They can withstand the cold ok, but it keeps them looking nice.

I particularly like the first and last. Only have one myself but it's a striking ruby red. I was afraid they'd be hard to look after but actually this one has been no trouble so far so might try more.

I don't find them any trouble at all Tuesday, in fact the ones outdoors get a little neglected really, but still perform.

Mmm. That's encouraging me to spend more of OH's money!!

A beautiful collection its so hard to choose a favourite but I think I would plump for the Gingery one so unusual ;0)

Thank you Shahida.
I agree Carole, it is unusual.

So many flowers and lots of buds still to open. It is a collection to be proud of. A favourite is hard to choose but I do like the second one very much.

You have some smashing ones in your collection, Cinders ... I love the pale lemon one in the second pic ... :o)

will have to go out and check to see if the little yellow one (the only one I have) has made it thro the winter. I just love them...wonderful collection!

Thank you Stroller, the ginger one is unusual isnt it.
Shirley, the pale lemon is lovely, and there is another one just coming out a bit brighter, but I can't get a good picture yet.
Thank you Lori, they are pretty hardy so hopefully yours will be ok.

I went out for a look immediately after seeing your blog, Cinderella, and I'm sad to report that the little primula is struggling...it has a couple of leaves..but they are very small. Couldn't bring myself to take a pic and post it...as you say they are very strong so "where there's life...there's hope!" Will keep better track of it now and when it blooms I'll post!

O thats a shame, but it will probably come good in the end. I have one or two in the garden that are struggling. They seem to do better in pots I find.
9 May, 2013
will they work as a houseplant, Cinders? maybe I should scoop it and give it a spot closer to the foundation of the house..the warmth from that thro the winter helps.
11 May, 2013
Sorry for not replying sooner Lori, have been away for a few days. I would think they would be ok as a house plant, but I don't think they like it too warm. Perhaps it would help to google it.
16 May, 2013
I'm not on as much as I used to be, as well, Cinderella...no problem. will google them to see what's out there. I have checked again on my little one..it has had some warmth and rain and it is growing! fingers crossed.

There is so much to do outside now that the weather is slightly improving Lori, so pleased yours is doing well.
