I had some lovely colour in my garden this year, especially this beautiful Hibiscus.
It’s been better than ever this year :o)

So has this shrub. It’s been lovely this year … I think it’s called Abelia :-

Anemone japonica and Persicaria amplexicaulis ‘firetail’ in pots by the road at bottom of the garden :-

Here are some of my cuttings.
I don’t know where to keep them when the winter arrives …

Some Clematises …

William Kennett :-

Carnaby :-

Madam Julia Correvon :-

Kaiu :-

Clematis chiisanensis :-

See how it is scrambling over an old bunker !

Betty Corning :-

Lots of berries on my Cotoneaster cornubia :-

This heather is quite big but I’m afraid to cut it back too much incase it dies …

Fuchsia and Clematis in a tangle on a trellis …

A September view :-

I’ll be happy to see the autumn coming soon. I’m looking forward to buying and planting bulbs, then I can look ahead to the spring :)

Thanks ... it has become a big shrub now. I originally brought it from my parents' garden after they died and we were selling the house.

Hywel I especially like your fuschia and clematis pic the colours work so well together - and you can never have too many cuttings - it is very satisfying seeing them mature

Considering that you have had to put up with a very mixed and strange summer, your garden seems to have loved it! The hibiscus is so striking and what a wonderful shade of blue.
I too love emptying my containers and planting bulbs in them for the spring time. Eventhough I am not a fan of the grey winter months I am so glad that we do have the 4 seasons.

As I am now training 2 A level students as Allotment Gardeners, ( I pay them well to keep my garden tidy, which pays their allotment expenses, never thought I would end up sponsoring youngersters, ) I only want to use my greenhouse in 2018 because of my loss of balance.
Am thinking about growing Lilies in it.
Do you have any advice to offer re other flowering plants just for the summer season pleasure ?
Four Tomato plants, and six Geraniums will be quite enough.

Don't wish your time away Hywel...That Hibiscus is amazing! As for the clematis. ..how do you find room for them all...speaking of room, I'm sure you'll find somewhere for cuttings over the winter. ..we gardeners are nothing, if not resourceful.

Thank you Hywel and Stera, I had forgotten Schizanthus -
my mother used to grow them, she called them
'Poor man's Orchid.' Will get some seed over the winter, and grow some annuals with them in the greenhouse.
it should be really nice.
