November grey days..

The weather here for the last few days has reverted to what we are used to, foggy, drizzly, grey days and my garden is going over..

The only action around on this wet day is provided by my feathered friends.

Saying that I still have some colour to cheer up the garden and me…

Thank goodness for Goy, I`m fed up of housework already, lol…

The Scot's word for a day like today - wet, misty and cold - is 'driech'. (my predictive text didn't like that!)
But your garden still has lots of colour for the time of year and still looks good. And the birds are always an added joy.

At the moment the weather in my area is similar .... & it's the middle of spring in NZ! Overcaste sky. Rain, rain & more rain, with strong winds thrown in just for fun! We have only had a handful of lovely hot spring days thus far & that's not what one wants to see after the long winter! But your garden still has colour & the birds are always a thrill to see.

Its not so grey in your garden, its still looking lovely and you do have lots of colour too, I like the Tobacco plants are they hardy? Im afraid there are only Sedums a few geraniums and a couple of roses on my Peace bush left, its cold again tonight so hope we dont have another frost to finish off the remaining colour!

What Britain gets this week, we tend to get about a week later. Not looking forward to that, then!
It's still relatively mild here, but quite damp, making digging a very sticky business. Your garden looks so colourful, still, Lincslass. And SO TIDY! I have today cut down all my Michaelmas daisies and suddenly it all looks so drab. Most of our garden colour came from tubs full of annuals, which of course, much against my better judgement we have had to clear out to make way for winter planting. It won't last for ever, and at least we have a windowbox over the front door planted with variegated trailing ivies and big, brilliant deep blue winter pansies to brighten just a tiny part and make a warm welcome to visitors. Can't wait for spring and bulbs!

Lots of interest still in the garden, lovely to see the birds feeding like crazy again, just started to feed my bird stand up only feed lightly through the summer months as they do not come as much. But this week they have really started to hunt out the seed and fat balls it is lovely to see them all back nice to see you have so many as well Lincslass. thanks for this blog it brightened up my day thank you.

Never mind Lincs ! think of all the nice things you can do instead like settling down with a good book beside a cosy fire with a nice big mug of hot chocolate , I might even come and join you :o))

It's wonderful how things keep going into the winter :o)

We have had similar weather here as well! It seems so strange that November should be so relatively warm - the weatherman on TV this morning said average temps were about 5C above normal for this time of the year! Well we will pay for it next month! :-((

I've been able to get some of the digging done on the allotment though due to the drizzle this week I've only been down on Weds.

If the weather keeps up like this for another week I'll be able to finish digging out the last of the Raspberry canes & perhaps have time to dig in the horse manure before it gets too cold.

I loved you photos of the birds - so close up!
