I Have Another Visitor..

Out of sheer boredom and need of fresh air, plus the fact that everywhere is wet anyway, I decided to scrub my front pathway with a good dose of Jeyes, I find its good for removing the green moss and stains from my paths and yard, I had to move a huge planter full of ivy that is used to disguise the outlet pipe from the washing machine, this is what was sheltering underneath..
I`m hoping I`ve done the right thing by him/her because I really dont want the cats to find its little cubby so I `ve taken my new guest down the garden out the back..
There`s lots more choices down here, I`ve placed him near my bottom shed , he can get underneath, also my woodpile is in the other corner, plus there`s the raised beds, surrounded by all the stones, heres hoping i now have a new resident…
The birds were amusing, mainly the starlings squabbling around the feeders but I was pleased to see a goldfinch back in the garden as well as all the usual winter residents…
As you can see the boys were very energetic whilst all this was going on..

Its amazing where they turn up! It'll be fine. I often lifted a slab up , especially near the pond and found them. You would think they would get squashed, wouldn't you!

What a fat one - I wonder how many slugs he's eaten over the summer?

Im sure Mr Toad will love his new home with all the local amenities! I moved one a few weeks back he wasforever patrolling the patio and I was afraid he may have got squashed, so he now lives around the pond area!
Your two bays look so comfy Im not surprised they remained static lol

As you all know I always have a multitude of frogs but thats the first time I`ve ever spotted a toad, big kid me, I quite excited..
Another wet and dreary day, been shopping with my daughter and found a lovely plant in Homebase, seemed a shame to leave it there, it was huge and there were two in one pot, we each now have added gaura lindheimer to our perenials, very pretty plant, sometimes shopping is not a bad thing, lol.....

He's lovely Sue, I used to have pet toads when a child ( I don't think they knew they were pets). They always seem more friendly than frogs and don't mind being held in the hand for a while:-)

We have a toad in the garden but I rarely see it. TT was asking if the slugs eat my lupins. They are not a big problem in the garden but I forgot Mr Toad was there helping out. I do not use slug pellets in case the thrushes eat snails which have eaten them.

I do hope your new garden guest stays on Lincslass - he's a stoater!!!!
I was busying myself today cutting back some of the perennials which are just a pile of mush - it wasn't long before my resident robin came a visiting - he/she spent ages pecking around the soil I had cleared. Try as I might I could not get close enough to get a picture.
Lovely pictures - the boys I see are like my Oscar and pretty much prefer the horizontal position at this time of the year :)
