Lovely pic. Some plants look fantastic when frosted.I removed my fennel seed heads in autumn as they selfseed so strongly. My grasses, particularly,stand out this morning!

Hi everyone, been out all day and just returned, I took this early this morning, what a frost??? and it has been so cold all day too. I thank you all, Sheila, Yorks, Amy (no I dont make fennel T. maybe one day I will) TT, Pp. (Paul...I haven't the heart to remove those seeds in case the birds might like them) San. I took some nice frozen spiders webs pics as well lovely aren't they & Karen & Stevie. :)

I get thousands of Ladybirds, Bees and particularly Heverflies around my fennel in the summer but very seldom do I see birds othe seed heads!

Well Paul I live in hope Lol!! If they are desperate they might try the fennel!! I agree the hoverflies do love the the flowers which is great.

Linda if we had some woods near us I would love to take my camera out on a cold frosty day, mad I know. :)

I took my video camera out with me a few years ago and did a short 2 minute film of the walk along Wyver Lane. Lots of frosted plants and trees along there and its on youtube. Nature throws some fantastic beauty.

Just found this and love it. I, too, leave the heads on my fennel, as I do on many things, as my heavy clay doesn't generally invite self-seeding. I love to see the structural beauty of the bare plants in Winter and to enjoy moments like the one you've captured so beautifully for us all to enjoy.

Such kind words Tuesday......I have planted some grasses in the garden now so hoping they will look good come the winter months too.

Made some fennel tea this morning and have to say it was delicious. It has many beneficial properties too.

Yummy TB. I am on green tea with cranberry at the moment, did you use your own fennel seeds?

'Fraid not; they were out of a jar but I will save my fennel seed from now on. Was too poorly to do it last year.

Hope things are on the up TB. we do need some warm days don't we?
