today i have been to lunch with my sister and sister-inlaw as we havent done it in ages with one thing and another, busy busy, so today we did and so enjoyed it, lifes a bit of a struggle at the moment with personal family matters and its taking its toll on me, luckerly i have baz who keeps me sane lol.
anyway going to lunch really helped and we all had a good moan, i was a little late as i got pulled into the garden centre by the sale sign,, well could you just drive by,, i dont think so haha,
anyway i was tempted by the half price rowan tree at £15 but do i need another, it would have looks lovely having two but i pulled myself back and carried on walking,
then i looked at all the sale price plants which also were very tempting but i had most of them already, so decided to check out plants that are flowering now and came across a lovely Anemone hybrid called Margarete, she is lovely and iv loved my september charm and would like another, not sure how avasive this is, it didnt say so will have to check on it, but have planted it by the pond,
once i had planted my new plant i couldnt resist rearanging a few which werent quite in the right place, hidden behind taller plants, so after an hour of moving about it started to rain so i came inside, i also decided to put my yucca in a pot as it was hidden by perrenials which have grown tall and bushy, so here is my new plant and a nice surprise water lily today, so iv had 5 in all this year on my new plant

so a nice lunch and a good old dig and plant really works wonders, hope you all have had a good day to, here is Margarete in her new home

thankyou barbara glad you like the Anemone, still to look it up and see if its a thug or not lol, but dont care as its so pretty, glad you think the yucca looks better in pot to, i just couldnt see it where it was, and being out has cheered me up, the longer you leave it the harder it becomes to venture out, but i will get there, always do ;o)) glad your day helped to barbara ;o) x

It's nice to hear you've had a pleasant day and feel better for it, Sandra :) I want to get some more planters so will be visiting the garden centres roundabout to check out their bargains. At least with pots (such as the one with your yucca) it lights up an area and can be moved about to a favourable position or as the mood takes us.

The Margarete looks quite at home planted up in your garden....looks like it's been there for ages.

I have to agree with Hywel's comments, Sandra, we've just had our son and daughter-in-law round for dinner as they're installing a bathroom today. They showered here , ate a big roast beef meal and have gone home to recover from today, ready for another bathroom building day tomorrow ! They cheered me up after a miserable time with Mum earlier.

Good for you San. I'm feeling a bit envious, haven't been out for a nice lunch for ages....perhaps I'll treat myself tomorrow. OH has day off and I've just found out about a lovely place near Montrose where the cakes are apparently "to die for"!! Like you, sometimes I find myself turning a bit 'hermit-like' and it does do me good to get out occasionally! :)) hope you continue to be lighter in spirit! :))

Love the plant Sand and the Lily. Glad you had a good day (for yourself) out. A break from everyday rituals, does do the world of good. I started to feel like I was getting into a rut, but when I take myself off on my own, even if it's only window shopping, it takes my mind of other things for a while. Glad your feeling a bit better in yourself. My new plants are still sitting in their pots, as I can't decide where to put them. Shall I leave them in their pots and just make a display, or shall I plant them together in a pot, or do I plant them straight in garden? The decisions are weraing me out. Lol. Biggest headache is, WHERE do I plant them so Puppy doesn't tear them apart. She is so naughty. I have never had a Puppy like her before. She runs ragged around the garden snatching at whatever as she's running, so she's grabbing at the plants and damaging them, and no matter how much you tell her off, she does the same thing 2 mins later. I really need to plant them 6ft up. Lol. :o))

16 Sep, 2010

lol linda you have got your work cut out with puppy, maybe look up training sugestions on web, some people have small water pistals and just a quich squirt when naughty and soon learn thats a no go, not cruel and when they are good a little treat for it,i taught casper not to go on borders which is hard for a cat, i just kept taking him of quickly even if it was 10 times in a row with a sharp A! sound and its sunk in, so good luck, think i would put them in a pot till puppy knows better ;o))

16 Sep, 2010

San the green one is in the ground at the mo, been battered by the wind this week, so the leaves are now shredded, will lift it when the time comes and put in a very large pot. The red one is buried in a 17ins pot in the ground so will just take it out and put in the garden room.....should be fun !!!

16 Sep, 2010

thats what i need,, a garden room for all my over winter plants dotty.. "BAZ" lol i dont think so,, good luck dotty ;o))

16 Sep, 2010

Love the new plant Sandra, they are a lovely colour.

16 Sep, 2010

thanx silverbelle ;o))

17 Sep, 2010

Lol Sand. Have tried giving her a squirt or spray with the hosepipe, she scarpers under the sun lounger or the hammock. She knows she's doing wrong. She doesn't like the water. When it's raining, she'll sit on backdoor step as if to say, 'if you think i'm going out in that'. Lol. :o))

17 Sep, 2010

lol linda, back to drawing board ;o))

17 Sep, 2010

Love the Anemone Sandra, I bought a white one `Andrea Atkinson` last week its suposed to be non invasive and grows to about 16ins. You`re doing well with the water lillies, only had one flower on mine this year.
Glad to hear you enjoyed your day out, it does you good to let loose once in a while.
