autumn poem

*i look out on a windy day,
autumn comming fast, we cant delay,
all our work blown away,
but we keep it going for another day,

the leaves are turning,
the flowers fading,
the weather changing,
its time for sleeping.

animals prepare to go to sleep,
the birds collecting berries to eat,
hedgehogs looking for a winter home,
collecting leaves to keep them warm,

we take cuttings from tender plants,
keep them warm in winter months,
ready for spring to start again,
then watch our gardens bloom again,

so dont be sad its not the end,
as the season turns a bend,
its just a break to rest,
so next summer looks its best*

Your poem described my feelings yesterday when I dug up the last of my summer bedding and put in the autumn flowers and covered my patio table and chairs it's not as bright as my summer display but it will still keep me looking out into the garden with a smile of my face until next year:) Well done Sandra
