A couple of weeks in June.
The Alstromeria looks brill
Trumpet lily wasn’t as high this year but looked good anyway
lots of interest amonst the foliage
This that i got given has another offshoot n flowering …

think this is about 3rd or 4th flower this year

I thought a Tortoiseshell. Lovely blog. Will try a Water Lily in the Pond next year.

Hmm yes I thought it was a red admiral but they have the black bits. Just done a bit of a google n it seems yes to be a Small Tortoiseshell .
Yes poppys have earnt their place by the door but need to replace them soon

Had to pull off a few snails the other days when the rains came in, n practiced lobbing them over the roof.
The pillu is doing well now but not had so much from the ville de lyon this year.
My Venosa Violacea on the small trellis is a good doer and has got better year on year now

Well its about 50yards from the road but I did notice a couple of people stopped in their tracks this morning. Thats the real sign its looking good when folk stop n stare

I have very similar arrangement of sedum and grass as you have in an old stone pot. I like very much your poppies and I am really surprised, for how long do they bloom. :-) The giant verbena is Verbena bonariensis, I have it too, it is a great plant, it would be more impressive if you combine it with long grasses. Very nice! I saw it last year in Austria and I bought several Verbenas after that, they bloom till November.

Is that a painted lady on the verbena? your poppies are lasting very well aren't they? its all looking good.
