Winter outside. Spring inside.

Here are just a few photos to share with you on a very dull, wet and quite chilly day.
Around the house are a few glimpses of Spring and the joys we have to look forward to. Most of the colour comes from inside the house at the moment.
Early days yet I know but not everything out there has gone to sleep!

Beautiful photos, you have some lovely plants indoors and out. I was remarking to a friend on my lunchtime walk that it felt like spring today. It was quite mild and sunny and the birds were singing their hearts out, it was beautiful.

Your house plants are beautiful - really cheering! Mine are all a bit sad-looking. Perhaps I'll treat myself to a couple of new ones...

I am enjoying my new 190 lt. fish tank indoors. Have discovered tropical fish swim about in their own family groups. ' Harlequins' rush about all day like swimmers doing lengths in the local pool. 'Platys' just mooch about not doing much at all. 'Neon Tetras' swim about in groups as if saying " Look at us, we are tiny but we are beautiful"
'Guppies' are busy as always.
I bought another two fawn coloured ones, forgot to ask their name, but they are most interesting as they clean up the unwanted food scraps from the aquarium floor, like two little Hoovers. I like this, as it saves me syphoning out the bits, so am going to get three more next week, as its a big floor for two to manage.
Fascinating. Glad I bought small fish. They have little brains, I sit and watch them when I should be getting on with my knitting !
Lovely fun, well worth the investment.

Hello Chris, you have some lovely house plants there ! I liked the glimpse of your garden. Was that through your window as I'm trying to work out how big your garden is ! You still have some colour out there ! A letter will be on its way soon. xxx

Very interesting to read about your fish Diane, I used to keep tropical fish a long time ago, they were fascinating!

Your cornus colour brilliantly, mine never did, so out they came. Love all your pics Chris, who's on the photo in the fourth pic?:-))

Wow! What a lot of amazing colour you have, inside and out! When I get home, the first thing I am going to do is get a couple of pots of forced bulbs for in the house...and a bunch of daffs! :))

Were you lopping them back, BA?

Many thanks to each and every one of you for the lovely comments.
I too love watching the movements of tropical fish but so far it has had to be at a local garden centre when I am having a cup of coffee.
I have a question to answer from Bloomer and Ba.....the little statue in picture 4 is a statue that lives in the garden of one of the self-catering cottages where we have stayed on the isles of Scilly. I liked her so much and just had to have a photo of her!
Rose the picture from our bedroom window shows about half of the garden. Beyond the shed there is about the same area again but it is at a lower level.
The indoor plants are recent purchases; so go on everybody spoil yourselves!!! The daffodils were only £1 from the pannier market in Tavistock and they were the last ones in the bucket - just waiting for me to come along I thought!!!

I've just been going through all the older blogs and found this one again ! It looks like you have quite a large garden Chris ! I don't know why, but I always imagined it as being smaller ! From what I could see, it looks really lovely !
