23 July - A walk in the woods

*Twice a day Millie and I go for a walk in the woods – sometimes just the two of us and sometimes with friends, grandchildren etc.
I like to take my camera with me to see what’s going on and to try and spot things that can easily be missed….*

Is Millie a greyhound rescue ? She's a beautiful girl who's obviously completely at home :~))

Thanks, Sanbaz, I wondered if it was a Ruddy Darter but it didn't look at ruddy at the one in my garden last year :)
Glad you all enjoyed the wander through the wood. You're so right, Heron, it's a wonderful life and I am so lucky to live here, a far cry from the streets of my childhood :)
Millie is a whippet X lurcher, B8babe, from rescue kennels a few miles away. She was abandoned while pregnant. She has obviously been loved and trained at some time but then treated roughly by someone. My young grandson lifted his leg to step over a branch in the woods and inadvertently knocked her - she cowered away and was really frightened. He was mortified but after a cuddle and a treat she was happy to be friends again. It was heartbreaking to see her like that and its lovely to see her romping around the garden more and more :)

It takes time and she's obviously in the best place to be able to put any past owners behind her. She's gorgeous ! :~))
