Poor you Gee, so annoying, arent they. We've had them in the past and we found it fascinating how they could come under the brook! They do make a mess, I feel for you.

This in fact must be awful poor you. My suggestion is stomping up and down the garden as loud as you can and stick your speaker down the hole with the double base turned up as they hate noise.

No idea what you can do about the mole but I do like your blog with the pictures. Hope you catch it soon. No doubt Gee you will have read the info about them on Wikipedia there are q uite a few ways of getting rid of them !

Me too Gee, I know its very annoying for you but can't help feeling great admiration for the little Moles determination to rule his underground kingdom! A great blog!

Fabulous blog Gee, sorry but I laughed too, love your illustrations, I have a problem with a mr mole too so know how you feel. The only method you didn't mention was a glass bottle stuck in the ground, the wind blowing over the top is supposed to make an eerie sound and frighten them away but given your cunning little chap he'd probably clap along!! I've had no joy with anything to move mr mole on either :o( Good luck

Have you ever seen the Jasper Carrot sketch about moles Gee? He has a very good solution to your problem which involved a shotgun with a torch strapped to it, a revolving chair, one very late night and some very understanding police officers! Lol

I'm sorry I can't offer any real advice but your blog reminded me of this sketch so much!

Gosh Gee. What an epic struggle with Mr Mole or even Mrs. I saw a bit about teabags and Jeyes fluid in questions to do with keeping cats away. These could be dotted around tunnels maybe. They might act as a deterrent. Or he might just make new tunnels to avoid them.

I've found a video of the sketch Gee.

Hope you like it!

I have just watched it, Ian. I had seen it before but had forgotten just how funny it was. Now, I've got a torch and a revolving chair - whose got a shotgun I can borrow? :)

I think you're right, Dorjac, most remedies just make the mole make a detour and start a new tunnel :(

I felt very despondent when I started this blog but feel more philosophical about it this morning. The trap is still empty and Mole is working his away across the top of the garden, under each of the paving slabs!

It is awful when moles make a mess out of all your hard work but I'm pleased you sound a little more positive about it today. I understand there are specialist mole catchers that will come and do the job for you but I'm sure there will be a price to pay.
Good luck with it all Gee!

I don't really want to kill it, Ian. I have ear-marked a nice little area where I could release it (probably illegal!) if only I could catch it :)

So sorry for your frustration Gee. Yes I am another one who is going to say how amusing I found your blog. I know you probably didn't intend your problem to be so funny but maybe it will lighten your load slightly knowing we are in fact sympathetic too! ;})))) I feel that due to all your efforts and tips you will succeed. Good luck!

Thanks, Grannysue, I'm usually quite laid back what with tortoises and dogs cavorting around the garden but the mole did begin to annoy me! Silly really, it's got to live somewhere - anyone want a lodger?
