Thanks Lincs. I have got white ones and a blue one, but couldnt capture that either. I have a lot of sedums in flower and they all like that.

They're lovely and it's nice to see so many different ones. I've only seen the tortoiseshell ones this year. Sedum is so popular withthem ...

Lovely set of photos, Cinders ... I have noticed more in the past week than the whole month of August! ... I love the first pic of the Comma ... not seen one of those this year ... saw some Holly Blues at the allotment ... on an untended plot full of weeds!

Lovely pics,Cinders..I haven't seen any on my Sedums..just lots of bees..lucky you :o)

So good to see you had lots Cinders. I did have one yesterday, another tortoiseshell on the Stokesia. They seem to like them just as much as buddleja, and they love the scabious too.

Thanks Bb. My sedum are absolutely smothered in bees and hoverflies too. But so nice to see the butterflies in abundance.

i hadnt seen many butterflies till my plant like yours opened thsi year, but when it did they came in droves, lovely cinders :o))
