Yellow, White, and Green ... Wild Spring Flowers, and Views.

Wild spring flowers are a lovely sight after the long dark winter, and I enjoy taking photos of them.
Most of the earliest ones are white, green, or yellow.
Would you like to come with us to find some ? ….
Let’s go over the Cilsan bridge at Llangathen, where there are lots of low lying meadows …..
The River Tywi meanders lazily around them.
In all the hedgerows you can see the green spathes of Cuckoo Pint – Arum maculatum ….
And also the green flowers of Dog’s mercury – Mercurialis perennis ….
Also along the verges, grow the delicate Wind Flowers (Wood Anemone) – Anemone nemorosa ….
And Lamium galeobdolon …
.
.
The narrow Carmarthenshire lanes wind on for miles …
…. and are home to the Lesser Celandine – Ranunculus ficaria ….
And the Primrose – Primula vulgaris … one of my favourite wild flowers :o)
.
.
Around Castell Carreg Cennen, the terrain is rather hilly.
It’s cooler than the low lying areas, but we can see some interesting wild flowers there …
Along a dry bank, we find Butterburr – Petasides hybridus ….
On damp ground near a stream, there’s Golden Saxifrage – Chrysosplenium oppositifolia ….
And Wood Sorrel – Oxalis acetosella – grows in all the hedgerows …
I love wild flowers. I hope I haven’t gone on too much about them lol.
I’ll show some more soon :o)

Its great to see that people still allow the wild flowers to flourish in some places. Thank you for sharing your day out. I think you make us all take time out to appreciate what we have for free if we take the time to look.

Love it, love it Hywel. We also have alot of these wild flowers in our garden and let some of them self seed around. Really enjoyed the walk with you. I know I'm always saying this, but having this scenery on your back door is (I think) worth the bad weather days.

A delightful blog. Such a super variety of pictures. The picture of the white house at the far end of the winding lane needs a painter to sit right there where you stood and get to work.

Lovely place to be, Hywel. The wild flowers are so perfect in their own habitats. I'm glad you added the wood sorrel. It's my favourite. I grew up in wooded countryside and it was everywhere under the trees at this time of year along with the anemones.
