I thought I’d show some photos of my garden taken this summer, so far :)
(I’ve been meaning to do it for a while, but never can find the time lol …)

Most of these photos have been taken at different times during June,
and some on the day when I was on the shed roof fixing some Perspex sheets (see a previous blog)

An areal view of the garden from the shed roof :-

Looking straight down the garden, from the roof :-

Looking north west from the roof … :-

Now back on terra firma ! and some roses (Masquerade) with a view :-

A view down the garden, with Fuchsia Peter Pan :-

More views :-

Bella going down the path … :-

At this time of year, when the evenings are light, the sun shines into my little covered area by the back door, until late.

This photo was taken at ten past 9 in the night, and the sun still shone in there :)
That’s because it faces north west :)

The warm weather has come to an end here for now, and we had a lot of rain yesterday (so it’s back to normal then …)
but I hope we get some more summery weather soon :)

How nice to see a long shot of the whole garden Hywel. it all looks as lovely as ever. I like the shot you've framed with Lady Boothby the path looks so inviting.

It looks lovely, Hywel - a beautiful garden. We had rain and cloud for two days, but today has been very fine again. 8.30 now, and not a cloud in the sky since lunchtime. I hope the good weather returns to you.

I always enjoy seeing your garden and plants Hywel, you have some beauties.
Kathy, the blue flowering plants looks like something I have - Campanula lactiflora, I might be wrong though.

Thank you all for commenting on my blog :)

Simbad, yes, as Dawn has said, the plant it Campanula lactiflora 'Pritchard's Variety'
It's doing really well this year ...

TT, The cute cat is driving me up the wall ! lol She brings shrews into the house and lets them go ...

Steragram, the Fuchsia is Peter Pan :) Similar habit to Lady Boothby, but a different shape flower. It's about 6 feet tall ...

Dawn, you are right :o)

Thank you all for your comments ...

It's good to see the long view of your garden, Hywel! The "aerial" shots take from the roof were really well done! You have some great views as well! :-))

I always love your views, Hywel. Naughty Bella. Our Mojo does that with shrews, voles, mice and then we have 2 hours or so of farce while we try to rescue them! Great fun.
Late evening sun is so lovely, isn't it? Hope Summer is back for you very soon.

Lovely views of your garden Hywel...:)

6 Jul, 2014

I have looked at this more than once as there is so much of beauty to see.
It is a splendid garden, so colourful and inviting and so well cared for.

Lovely pictures! Hopefully I will achieve something (almost) as good in time. Ho Hum.

I moved here 2 years ago - small garden very heavy soil east facing. Was doing reasonably well until I got a dog! He "helps"! A lot!!

Hi Hywel, I'm chuffed, not very often I get things right :-)
Mine is doing well too, just planted at the front of the border instead of further back, hey ho, looks nice anyway.

Hywel, just while I remember, do you remember what time of year you sent me the rose cuttings (New Dawn), just that they all grew so well and I shared them and would love to know when to take more from my other roses. Thanks x

PS. Bella has found a glorious home with you, enjoying the garden, wildlife and all.

Thank you all for looking at my blog, and your comments :)

Barbaramn, I have only lived here for 8 years. The garden was just grass then ... and look what it's like now.
And if I can do it, so can you :)

Dawn I can't remember what time of year it was ...
but I should think if you took cuttings now, they'd have plenty of time to root before the winter :)
I took some rose cuttings a few weeks ago, and they seem to be all right.
Stick them in deep ...

Thank you Hywel and Dawn, strangely that's just the plant I was just admiring at Harlow Carr a few days ago, fancy that :-)

You ve redesigned it wonderfully Hywel , your garden is flourishing, gorgeous all of it . Bella looks as though she is enjoying her self in your garden. :O))

Lovely to see your garden from above, Hywel, it is so pretty. I thought of you this morning because my 'sausage' plant is in flower again and doing well :)

Bella looks as if she is off with a purpose - perhaps checking that you have done everything right :)

7 Jul, 2014

You live in such a beautiful place. Also very good work. I like how you integrated hardscapes & structures into your garden - adds dimension and interest.

It all looks beautiful Hywel so full of plants and colour what I want to know is what on earth were you doing on the roof ? you frighten me you could so easily fall ,be careful x

17 Jul, 2014

lol ... :D I was fixing some Perspex sheets Amy ...
take a look at the blog before this one, called 'Work in Progress'
... and you'll see what I've been doing.

I was very careful on the roof, so don't worry :o) x

Hywel I was mortified to read its taken you only eight years to produce your garden. You will see how much more you have achieved than I have and I look forward to some tips! (Only don't tell me to dig all the lawn up...)

17 Jul, 2014

The first thing I did was to get rid of the lawn. That's all there was here - just boring grass :(
It had to go ! :o)))

18 Jul, 2014

Our grass isn't boring, I haven't counted how many different little plants are mixed in with it! And now it has dark green patches surrounding bare bits where I put on too much Weed and Feed in a hurry to kill the worst patches of buttercups before the pond was dug. If we learn from out mistakes I should know an awful lot by now...

19 Jul, 2014

Your grass sounds like mine, Stera. Full of all sorts of other things!

19 Jul, 2014

Lol Melchi. it doesn't do to lose sleep over it...

19 Jul, 2014

My garden isn't very big, and I'd rather fill it with more interesting plants than grass. And I hate mowing it ...
Even when I had a much bigger garden, I got rid of all the grass.
I suppose we all want different things.
