i am fuming

I've just had 2 messages from same person.
First message just said hi.
Second message much longer.
I have sent several p.m.'s to alert P & A.

good TT, i sent them messages too to warn them about this person. there are a lot of trusting folk on GOY and id hate to see them being taken in by this

I think these scammers are getting worse.
Last week on another forum to which I belong, we'd just got one person removed and then someone else posted a comment full of so many unwelcome swear words.
I alerted the administrators to get it removed before others read it, such as children.

I've also had the same message. I've flagged it and informed Peter about it.

Both unwelcome messages now removed from my inbox.

I have also recieved the same message today, really annoyed to think someone is trying to trick members of GOYwhen we are such a friendly and trustworthy group.

Hello all. Thanks for letting us know. I have deleted the rogue account and the 150ish dodgy messages they sent.

It's a fair bet he thinks women are a soft touch and that we will fall for his pitch!
He has obviously not seen our email account which has scam emails purporting to be from every bank you can think of plus lots of Nigerian ones asking for bank details and we will share a fortune.I either report them to the bank or delete.
I flagged these as soon as I spotted them but it was a bit of a shock to find them on here.

Maybe its the Nigerians trying to buy Newcatle United Lyd.

well they won't be getting Ashleys 400 million out of me! or 400 pence for that matter!

could well be Bonkers lol.
although its a rotten scam it was nice to see that GOY folk all look out for each other. makes this site even more special.

Thankfully I didn't get one this time, I did on a previous occasion, unless of course it was removed by the wonderful GOY team before I looked at my computer.

GoY administrators speedily removed a lot of the rogue messages.

One minute the pms were there, and then they were gone.
Now you see it. Now you don't.
Peter and Ajay worked promptly.

So some members might not realise they did in fact receive them.

I didn't get a request for my bank account and I don't feel the least bit neglected. My rule of thumb for scams like this is IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE IT PROBABLE IS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE.

I do get some of these in my email but not often....I usually report the ones about banks because someone just might be naive enough to actually provide the info...

thanks Irish for the alert. I haven't received anything, but if I do I shall report it immediately. I put my trust in this site to be able to have a chat with other gardeners in safety. I really enjoy this site, and it's a great shame that others try to get in and ruin a good thing.

I had something like this inmy own pm add I dont know how they can get hold of your address scary stuff but I put it in to spam .
