Yes its true, I can now say I’m gardening because I want to, today I’ve cut the hedge in the backyard and pruned a bit near the fishpond, cleared my bedding plants out of the top g’house, its only home to tomato plants until next winter now , Alicante, Moneymaker and Gardeners Delight with a few marigolds to keep the whitefly away…
Cucumbers and more toms in the bottom one..
That includes spares to offload on relatives…
Homeless plants, well at the moment they are, the garden seat is also full of them, I guess its time to go visiting bearing gifts…
I just noticed that I haven’t trimmed around the edge, as you can see its lined with a compost bag, lol… Another bit of recycling, I hope him indoors doesn’t need this tyre…
I’m going to paint it tomorrow, not sure what colour yet….
Hope you are all enjoying our June weather….
First coat of paint on my new planter..
Hope you like his feet. LOL….

wow cant believe your roses are in bloom already, mine are just buds. You have got so many tomato plants!! ive only got 2 this year, im downsizing lol. Your garden looks amazing, ive done the same as you with an old wheelbarrow, they dont seem to last long these days without falling apart! I remember my old dad had his wheelbarrow for 30 years!! You have done great in your garden, well done:-)))

Smashing, Lincs!
It is nice at this time of year, when all the hard work is done.I'm so relieved when my veg patch is all planted(as I put in my blog the other day) Now, it's mainly watering , dead heading, feeding and(hopefully, he says with fingers crossed) harvesting!!!!
I love those little kiddies wheelbarrows.Everytime I see them and the small tools in the garden centres etc, I say to Julie I wish I had a little grandchild to buy them for....but, one day, maybe!!!

Wow,that garden is alive and living, lived in and used.Lucky you now having more time to enjoy it.
Great to use old bits and pieces and a little thought isn`t it.....the older the better .Combined with the right plants anything can come alive and evokes a feel of contentment and tranquillity.Almost as if it has finally discovered it`s place in life.
Definitely my kind of environment. And oooh how I wish I had a greenhouse and could get involved in all that sowing and growing ....one day maybe,eh?

lovely pics, thanks for sharing.
have you decided what colour to paint the tyre yet? or even decided on going for contrast or complement? most painted tyres I've seen have been white, which is effective but rather unimaginative ...

Fran I've added another pic, it now has its first coat and definitely not white,lol..

I have overdone the seed sowing again S'killa so far too many plants here, thats why I'm filling anything I can lay my hands on.

Plenty of seedling Lincs - I'm sure you wont run short of tomatoes!!
Your barrow looks great, as does your recycled tyre. Enjoy your pottering!

The tyre planter is on the yard in the dogs play area, its no good buying nice planters for in there, between them they manage to destroy most things in their own space but its nice to have a bit of colour..

Nice that you had a good potter around, it was very rewarding by the look of it ~ especially like the little red wheelbarrow, its certainly earned its keep.

Nice to see your tomatoes are coming along, and the garden tour - very enjoyable :o) Well I like your planter. I wish I'd kept my tyres when I moved. I got rid of about 6 of them.
Isn't this weather wonderful ! I hope it lasts a long time for us :o)
