Pleased to report Conker felt fit enough to carry the flags for the GoY Winter Wellie Olympics pets in the closing ceremony.
Here he is, caught in the flashlight, holding as many of the different nation's flags as he could manage. Lol.
As a Shetland Sheepdog, he was delighted to include the flags of Scotland and of the Shetland Islands. :o)
For anyone fighting cancer... or has a friend coping with the condition... please remember the pic of Conker and his flags...
This is what it's all about... making the most of every day and trying to win the battle of the gremlin cells ...
... good health to you all...xxx

Hi Conker !
It's nice to see you looking so wonderful.
You're doing a great job holding all those flags :o))
28 Feb, 2010
Hello Hywel..
Conker is holding on tight to the Welsh flag ! Lol.
28 Feb, 2010
Clever Conker-- a wonderful ambassador for Goy--- by 2012 we will need a Goy flag -- green background and 'our' tree of course :o)
28 Feb, 2010
Good idea for the flag design, Pam....
...and maybe a tiny pair of wellies in the corner..Lol.
28 Feb, 2010
I remember that flag with Bonsai aswell TT :o)
28 Feb, 2010
Yes, well-remembered, Hywel...
the Welsh Flag and "Wales" name sign belonged to my beautiful Bonsai, the Welsh Terrier...
...but I try to let current pets 'inherit' toys and trick items wherever possible.
Truffle has some of Bonsai's things... life goes on....
28 Feb, 2010
Conker looks really well, TT, so lovely to see him. How on earth did you keep Truffle out of the picture :)
28 Feb, 2010
Lol. Gee... You guessed I would need a plan...
Truffle was left in the kitchen with a new chewchew present...:o)
28 Feb, 2010
Well done Conker, you're looking really good! Didn't realise the closing ceremony was today. Felix has been missing since last night- he must have gone to collect all his medals on his own, I'm a bit miffed as I did want to be there :~(((((. I don't think I see an Australian flag there TT???:~))))))).
28 Feb, 2010
I'm speechless !!! what a wonderful Conker you have there. Brilliant picture
28 Feb, 2010
Hi Skillen..
Conker could only manage these five flags...
He isn't back to full strength yet...
I'm hoping to maybe collect little flags from other GoY nations over the next couple of years, so that Truffle could carry them all at the 2012 Summer Olympics.... but only if Truffle is sufficiently sensible by then..LOL...
The Final Medals Table for the GoY Winter Wellie Olympics will appear later today, and I feel sure there will be a special mention for fantastic Felix :o)))
28 Feb, 2010
Thanks, Yorkshire..
Conker is getting more perky, isn't he.
You can't really see from this pic, but the fur is starting to grow back on his bald areas from after the chemo... :o)
28 Feb, 2010
Oh bless him, I hope he goes on o.k. he looks such a lovely dog
28 Feb, 2010
Thanks. I used to groom Conker twice a week, but he hasn't needed a brush near him for months..
... however, yesterday I combed his new hair under his neck.... what a thrill... lovely new white hair coming through :o)
28 Feb, 2010
thats good to know Tt -- big hug for clever conker
look forwards to final medals table :o)
28 Feb, 2010
Thanks, Pam... yes, final medals table going on the blog later today...
I have a feeling those FFP didn't do very well..LOL.
28 Feb, 2010

28 Feb, 2010
Hear hear Conker ! xxx
28 Feb, 2010
That's a good positive message TT. Well said :o)
28 Feb, 2010
Thanks Hywel...
Over the past year I've had to learn a lot about coping with a pet suffering from cancer..
... and it is even harder to deal with when it is a young dog or cat...
Now, it looks like Conker is going to be healthy for his 6th birthday in March...
... and hopefully a lot longer than that.. :o)
28 Feb, 2010
Great photo and great ambassador.... lookin' good Conker:-)))) Perhaps he and Truffle could join our Duvet Team 2012 ? They could perform search and rescue operations for those brave, derring do competitors who disappear into the cavernous openings of the duvet cover in their Herculean attempts at duvet wrestling. Speaking for myself, I will feel much happier knowing they are on the job:-)))
28 Feb, 2010
Hi. Bornagain..
It is Lincslass's dogs you need for the duvet team...
she'll tell you all about it..LOL.
but Crocus offers to moult more feathers as filling...Lol.
28 Feb, 2010
Clever Conker.......he's looking well TT...:o)
28 Feb, 2010
Hi Janey...

4 Mar, 2010
Hi Wagger...
Welivision...? Wellievision.. ? ...good one.. :o) Lol.
Thought you hadn't been around for a while....
I'm glad to know your absence was caused merely your computer having a rest, and nothing worse.
Thanks...Conker had great fun carrying all those flags... :o)
4 Mar, 2010
Couldn't decide whether it was one L or 2 LLs. LOL
4 Mar, 2010

Fantastic photo of Conker with all those flags! I have put it into my favourites! It so good to see him taking an active interest in things once again & I was so pleased to hear that he has grown new hair! :-) looking forward to seeing more photos & hearing a lot more about his improvement in health.

Hi Balcony...
How are your fuchsias ? Getting ready for the usual superb display on your balcony...?
Thanks. Conker enjoyed some sunshine today. The time in the garden made him rather tired, but he seems to get stronger each day ..
Yes, Conker is growing fur, and it makes him look rather like an eight month old puppy... sort of half length hair !
Maybe take a peek at the photo of Conker from last year, with his watering can, on my latest blog, and you can what a huge amount of fur he had, so he still has a few inches of hair to grow yet ... but getting there ! :o)
7 Mar, 2010
I'm afraid that maybe the last sunshine he sees during the next week at least as we are forecast cloud & more cloud all week & low temps as well. :-(
It was a brilliant day yesterday with sunshine from sunrise to sunset! I took advantage of the sunshine to take more photos of my Crocuses on the balcony railing. I eventually put a few into my blog which had been waiting termination for at least a week, maybe even 10 days! I would have liked to put all 9 pots of flowers on there but I thought it might be a bit too much of a good thing.
I'm so glad for you both that Conker is looking so much better. His new hair looks lovely & soon it will be as long as it was before.
8 Mar, 2010
I found your blog and pics. Lovely pretty Crocus colours.
Conker is growing more hair every day...
.. not much regrown on his tail yet, but it will be there eventually.. :o)
9 Mar, 2010
So pleased to hear Conker is improving. He is a beauty. !
Alf and Dolly send lots of purrs.
9 Mar, 2010
Having lost one of my rescue dogs to cancer, I am so delighted Conker is doing well and getting a glossy new coat TT. Loving our animals as we do, it's so hard to watch them going through tough times, but it's unconditional love on both sides. My world is always a brighter place when I have one of my rescue dogs snoozing in front of the fire. Lots of wet noses and wags to Conker TT xxx
11 Mar, 2010
Can't find this on your blog list TT, have you deleted it?
14 Mar, 2010
Hi Skillen...
Are you looking for my GoY Winter Wellie Olympics blog called "Are You Ready" ?
Published 10th February. 2010.
Let me know if that's what you're trying to find.
I hope this helps. :o)
14 Mar, 2010
No it's not that one TT. Karensusan was asking if you had done a blog on Goy winter olympics and I told her to look in your blog list for 'are you ready' which I found, but I couldn't find the 'closing ceremony' (which is this one) I found it by looking back at my outbox comments. This blog doesn't seem to be in your list of blogs?
14 Mar, 2010
This was uploaded as a photo I think Skillen ,rather than a blog.Am I correct TT ?
14 Mar, 2010
Hi again Skillen... That's right Aster..
I've written six "GoY Wellie Olympics" related blogs... but I only put on this one picture of Conker for the closing ceremony... not an actual blog...
The comments towards the end of "Are You Ready" list the final medals tables for our GoY Winter Wellie Olympics pets..Lol.

Ah what a gorgeous photo and your words are so apt and touching. I've just come back from a two stay in the UK. I had a wonderful time being home again and seeing everybody, but the most gruelling part was when I went to visit my friend's grave, who had recently lost her battle with the gremlin cells. It was painful to think she was under there, but I and a mutual friend who was with me, have decided to put our priorities of life in the right order .. thank you TT
18 Mar, 2010
Hi Terry60...
Your friend battled bravely against the gremlin cells...
.... yes these times do remind us to get our priorities sorted...
19 Mar, 2010
Yay! Go Conker! Woo-hooo! :-D
27 Mar, 2010
Hi Sid...
