sun at last and finished work early today so couldnt wait to get home and do some weeding and dead heading, spent two hours and still more to be done.
was so nice to feel the sunshine again and breath in that wonderfull fresh air, casper enjoyed it to and was chasing butterflies and the baby frog which i managed to rescue yet again, but doing that i stung my arm on a hiden nettle grrrr ouch! so that got a good tug out by its roots i tell you lol
anyway after having a lovely couple of hours i snapped a few shots to let you see how the gardens doing after endless rain and wind last week, surprising how when the sun comes out again it doesnt look as bad as i expected

hope you havent gone to sleep after all them pics lol, need to cut the grass which i will do at weekend as its surpose to be sunny, i would have loved to go to tatton flower show but baz isnt a gardener and almost fainted at the price for two of us, then petrol and lunch, oh and what i would spend on plants comming to over a £100 for the day ;o(( which is much needed to take joe to uni in aberdeen sept so joe comes before the show im afraid, but always next year and carol said the new kittens would be grown up and able to be on their own for the day by next year, so we will be able to go to tatton and southport ;o))
hope you all have a lovely weekend to and the sun shines bright xx
oops sorry about the weeding bucket in pic lol

Nice pics, lovely garden, so fresh and green - I'm tempted to post a shot of the lawn at the front here, which looks like the surface of the moon or mars - dry, crispy brown and dead. We've had a little rain yesterday, but nowhere near enough, unfortunately. First rain for 2 months that was.

24 Jul, 2010

All things bright and beautiful Sanbaz, the flower tubs look so colourful and rich. Like you would have liked to have gone to the flower show but find as pensioners the price of the tickets were to high, and we would have had none left to spend on plants.
So spent all our money at local nurseries instead.

24 Jul, 2010

lovely pics of your garden sandra..... all looking very nice.... : O ))

24 Jul, 2010

glad you like my garden stroller, i think they charge way to much to get in these shows, when you think how many people pass through the gates over a few days, must make a fortune, maybe one day ;o)
thankyou so much holly, we were surpose to have sunshine this weekend but its rain and more rain again, im so fed up with it now, cant get out and enjoy the garden, i do hope we get some summer, i need it to be sunny for joe`s 18th on august bank holiday ;o)

24 Jul, 2010

Looking fantastic hun but it always does. Amazing what a drop of rain does....care to send some this way!!
Your alliums looking good aswell.
Is that a purple hollyhock in last pic? Saw a purple one last week in someones garden in Sudbury.

24 Jul, 2010

Hi Sandra, your garden is looking good, and surprising how well our gardens look, did'nt mind the rain so much as we did need it but when rain starts here it does'nt know when to stop, but the wind really got me down, as for next year dont know if you wont to come to all of them but i try to go on at least once a month on a coach trip to either garden shows or flower shows as Harragate flower show is great thats about April time and i know week before southport there is Shrewberry flower show, so Sandra watch this space next year, missed alot 1st half of year as i could'nt leave Smokey either. xx

24 Jul, 2010

thanx steve for you lovely comments, i love alliums to and only alliums in last pic, maybe because they are coming up inbetween other plants, my hollyhocks not in flower yet but there are buds coming just need sunshine ;o))
hi carol thanx and yes plez let me know when anything comes up and if im not working would love to go to any shows with you, quite glad baz doesnt want to go because he would just try to stop me buying any plants lol ;o)) x

If you've planted from seeds Sandra than they wont be flowering till next year as there a biannual. One of the reason i was looking for established stems so I didn't have to wait 2 years! lol

Hi Sandra...
In photo 10 what is the yellow plant in front of the pot please ?
Is it the same plant as the yellow draping one in photos 17 and 18 ?

27 Jul, 2010

I love a good guessing game - looks like Lysimachia mummalaria to me, is that right, San, or are they two different plants?

27 Jul, 2010

Your garden is looking very colourful Sandra you must really enjoy it as I couldn't see a weed anywhere. You are certainly making good use of your weed bucket...lol.
