my garden in wet july

Hi Guys just been out to feed my fishies so thought i would post a blog on my wet july garden.
like alot of you flowers have been flatterned some what and my worst if my margarites which have a huge gap in the middle, the rain has flatterned them so next year im buying suports no matter at what cost, its worth it im sure.
anyway a few pics and also front pots and only one basket this year as the new porch has stopped me having one at either end of the house, mind you is it worth it when we only get rain these days, think Dee has the right idea using coloured leaves in pots rather than flower now. i may try that next year if this is what summer is going to be from now on.
Also i bourght a nice fairy plaque which i have hung in my porch rather than outside where its likely to get bashed about with wind etc.
think we should focus on spring and autumn plants from now on Guys.
enjoy the pics
well there you have it wet july, my Grass needs a good cut and edge but far to wet, plants need dead heading but to wet to get to them at the back, so my garden is doing the natural look this summer til i can get out there anyway.
But im not alone and better off than alot of people who face more flooding this next few days after only just getting their homes back in order, so im not going to feel bad about my garden just lucky we havent got floods here in blackpool,
take care everyone xx

Your garden looks lovely San, the pond area has really come on well, thats one good thing to say about our weather this year our new planting doesn`t struggle to survive, thats me looking on the bright side, lol, I told hubby I`m saving on electric cos I can`t cut the grass as often...

All looking great. The only bonus this year I think is that most of us are in the same boat (excuse the pun!). It won't belong before my grass falls over from the weight of it!!

Two little boys had two little toys
Each had a wooden horse
Gaily they played each summer's day
Warriors both of course
One little chap then had a mishap
Broke off his horse's head
Wept for his toy then cried with joy
As his young playmate said
Did you think I would leave you crying
When there's room on my horse for two
Climb up here Jack and don't be crying
I can go just as fast with two
When we grow up we'll both be soldiers
And our horses will not be toys
And I wonder if we'll remember
When we were two little boys
Long years had passed, war came so fast
Bravely they marched away
Cannon roared loud, and in the mad crowd
Wounded and dying lay
Up goes a shout, a horse dashes out
Out from the ranks so blue
Gallops away to where Joe lay
Then came a voice he knew
Did you think I would leave you dying
When there's room on my horse for two
Climb up here Joe, we'll soon be flying
I can go just as fast with two
Did you say Joe I'm all a-tremble
Perhaps it's the battle's noise
But I think it's that I remember
When we were two little boys
sorry dont know coochy bear lol

Oh I hate that song ;o) Did you have to remind me of it.
I'll be singing it all day now lol :D
Thank you Sandra ... there are no floods here. We haven't had the severe weather that's hit some places. I feel very grateful but sorry for those who've suffered. It's awful. When is it going to end ...

Your garden looks colourful Sandra, despite the weather. Grey here this morning, and more rain to come. Think I'll grow webbed feet.....no I won't..... It would cost me too much in new shoes. LOL.
The little birds look bedragled when they come to feed. Some new babies with them too, so some have survived.
Nice to see your tubs full of plants. I have lobelia and geraniums, petunias and margaretes.

Your garden is looking great San....it's just a shame we can't be outside to enjoy it isn't it....one thing though, we're not spending time watering this summer! We had a great sunny day yesterday and went over to the coast, back to rain today, and it's our show weekend here....:(((
8 Jul, 2012
lol Linda think we may all have to grow webbed feet some if this carries on.
dont seem to see many birds at all lately and havent seen any baby birds at all this year which is sad.im suprised my tubs have lasted with the weather but they are doing,
yours sound lovely to Linda :o))
janey your so right i cant remeber when i last sat in my garden, think about may and not very often.
iv only watered my baskets as they seem to stay dry even in rain, but other than that no watering here either.
glad you had a sunny day on the coast, bet it made you feel better, we had a great day yesterday and also today when we went to liverpool to see Rolf Harris exhibition which was great.
its a shame when the local shows are on isnt it, we have one this month and cant see it being sunny for that either :o((
hope ian is doing well to janey x

I love Rolf Harris's artwork. I remember watching him paint with a large brush and pot of paint on to a large white sheet. His artwork was very Aboriginal to start with. He is very talented someone who will always be remembered, like Constable or Turner.
9 Jul, 2012
i totally agree Linda, the exhibition was great from his work on tv when he began, also his shows, singing etc on srean to look back on, then his artwork from Aborriginal to what he does today, they say you cant buy one of his originals for anything under £22.000 now, woohoo wish that was us Linda haha
i loved the painting of the Queen which was on show and can you believe it a little girl touched it Argggg! her mum almost died lol
I bourght a T.shirt to wear while i paint haha, insperation i hope.
well worth the visit, i will always remeber it:o))
9 Jul, 2012
Glad you had a good time Sandra. I loved it too when Rolf visiited the palace and painted a picture of HRH. HE is so humble, I love him.

10 Jul, 2012
San considering the shocking weather, your garden is standing up to it really well, the pond looks brilliant, and I just love the Acer and the red dragon, and as you say we have been very lucky, we are safe and dry......regarding Rolf Harris, look out for a pic soon!!
