Sunny Sparrows

happy xmas TT. Lovely blog. My back garden doesn't get the sun at this time of year but the birds have been visiting all day. Made some 'bird pies' ready for the cold snap that is supposed to come tomorrow. cant wait to get out and feel the earth in my fingers again. :o)

It's rather cold here tonight.
Everyone out shopping tomorrow for the sales and I've promised to take my youngest niece out to feed the ducks somewhere - I hope it's not too cold! I'd be out shopping myself except my favourite GCs are not open :)

Team Terra had a super day ... my dogs enjoyed practising Christmas-theme trick routines, and Crocus ate an extra chubby chunk of millet. :o)

Great photo's Terra, its a wee bit cloudy today and colder but we've had a couple of weeks of really smashing weather with lots of days with blue skies, not bad for late December, I do like the little sparrows, cheeky little birds I always think, although they seemed to disappear for a few years they've returned in vast numbers, they along with the other birds are enjoying a little extra treat in my garden...
Enjoy the rest of Christmas Terra and lets hope that wintry weather they keep warning about passes us by, I am happy to admire the snowy scenes just on my cards...

Yes... cloudy today, but we were lucky to have such a sunny Christmas Day. More sparrows around here for sure .. about two dozen like to perch above my dog run area !

Its arrived Terra, started with very heavy rain which soon turned to snow and by 7pm we were white over,will admit it looks really pretty, I have never seen snowflakes so big but hadn't taken my camera with me, stupidly I'd walked around to my daughters in shoes even though I'd received new boots from hubby as one of my presents, they stayed nice and dry in their box and I had very cold, wet tootsies getting back home again, lol...

so nice to see the Sparrows, for whatever reason we have only a couple around here, but lots of Blue Tits and Coal Tits, oh and Starlings. I love to watch them as they visit the bird feeding station.

Absolutely loads of sparrows here ... but these days very few other types of bird ... must be nice to see the Blue Tits and Coal Tits.

My favourite cheeky bird, not many come to this garden, but love our daughters old garden she had an old privet hedge which they loved........great pics TT?☺?

Recently in my back garden, I've counted about 30 sparrows at the same time ... they do like congregating in hedges and thick shrubs, don't they :o)

It's great to see you make up a blog on Sparrows, TT! :-)) We see them around here but never in the numbers I remember seeing as a boy growing up in London! Even the Starlings have greatly reduced in number since we retuned back to the UK 14 years ago! Both used to form great flocks, now they are both very much reduced. :-((

The sparrows were a delight on Christmas Day in the sunshine. Not so many starlings as there used to be, but modern plastic soffits and fascias on houses have resulted in less places for the starlings to nest.

We only get the starlings when I put up my homemade fat balls, and when the grapes have fully ripened, more crows and fat pigeons these days....

Yes, definitely more pigeons ... and magpies too ...

Really lovely blog as ever TT so pleased the weather was kind on Christmas day, it certainly took a turn for the worse Boxing day, your cheery sparrows were no doubt keeping snug in your garden foliage, love the very last picture :o)
