Sorry for absence :)

So sorry I have missed so much on GoY. I have been busy in the garden and with family. I can’t promise to catch up with all photos and blogs but will give it a try – gradually!
Just a few compilation photos of some some of the flowers that have excelled themselves, in spite of the heavy rain, over the last few weeks. My garden isn’t as co-ordinated as my photos but I’m loving its jumble of colours at the moment :)
I hope you enjoyed seeing my personal rainbow and are all enjoying some of the belated but beautiful sunshine.

What a beautiful way to display your garden photos Gill ,I love the way you have colour coordinated them , is the very first photo Ipomoea ' Split Second ' ? I was given one this last week , I can't get a decent photo of it it dosn't stay open long enough , I wonder if that's why it's called split second ,I'm never there in the split second that it opens :o( I will keep trying !

Clever collages Gee, I hadn't thought of colour coordinating,. I did one for my cousin of her family.....
And as long as you've been having fun you're allowed out...But lovely to see you back. :0))))

Agree nice to see you, i sometimes find it hard work as being on my own doing all the garden, housework and being on GOY, you have some lovely plants in your garden.

I'm sure we all appreciate just how difficult it is to catch up sometimes...we can only do what we can do :)
Those collages look great - lovely plants and pictures there Gee...like professional mood boards

This is the most beautiful herbarium I have ever seen. How did you make it?
25 Jul, 2012
Gee love the way you have displayed your beautiful flowers, such a clever lady, your garden must look stunning with so much colour.....

Dottydaisy expressed it very well. I think these collages or "herbarium" can be used also as inspiration for others how to combine different colours in their gardens. Just clever and beautiful!

Glad to see you back GEE with a wonderful colourfully themed presentation of your garden flowers. Perhaps we should try to give the names of the flowers? The blackbirds have built their 4 th nest in the magnolia next door and Mr Blackbird is still feeding a demanding youngster, bigger than he is, on the garden wall in the evening....bit too hot for me yesterday, made me feel so tired.

Thank you all :)
Amy, the first photo is Ipomoea I grew from seed. The packed just says 'mixed'! I only know them as morning glory but 'split second' just about sums them up, blink and you miss them :)
You're so right, Clarice, it is difficult to juggle all the jobs that need to be done and they seem to be taking me longer these days :)
Thanks, Katarina, I always use Powerpoint to do blogs and collages. Very simple to use and a programme I am very familiar and comfortable with.
I think I would be hard pressed to name them all, Dorjac, I would have to run to find the labels :) Most birds seem to have deserted my garden apart from 3 very noisy and amorous wood pigeons, a family of dunnocks and the odd duck! Your blackbird parents must be exhausted.
Sheilar, my plan is to do some catching up with one eye on the Olympic opening ceremony tomorrow evening :)
Just returned from my morning walk with Millie - too warm for her really but I kept to the shady paths through the woods, very pleasant. Off to do some more dead-heading etc. now :)

Gee thats true its hard doing everything on your own and like you say it takes alot longer to do jobs aswell, its like jobs that would normally say take 10mins now takes about 20mins, never mind at least we can still do them even though it takes twice as long to do :o))))

I like the way you've made all those photos. I've added the blog to my favs lol
Don't worry if you can't catch up. I think it will be impossible.
Anyway it's nice to hear from you again :o)

What a fantastic way to show your flowers, love the idea of documenting them in colours. You have some very beautiful flowers and foliage plants, your display as been done with so much love and care and shows the enjoyment you get from your garden, was that beautiful Dragonfly in your garden?
27 Jul, 2012
Thanks, Hywel, just after I did these photos the Sanguisorba you sent me burst into bloom, it's really doing well this year, very tall with lots of fluffy flowers.
The dragonfly was on my pittosporum, Carole, and was very obliging, staying in place for several minutes while I ran to fetch the camera :) I am really pleased with the garden this year, much more colour than previously, and I must admit that is due to seeing what other GoY gardeners are growing. I must also admit that I have two more heucheras to add to my 'heuchera' blog :)

Well after a very slow start my garden is starting to kick into colour. The marjority coming from the Lavertera, Sweet peas, Malus,Lynchnis, Pinks, Lysmachia, Lucifer, Lavender and a few Roses, so Im feeling that some of the earlier hard work raising seedlings is at last paying off.
Interested in what your new Heucheras are, Im lweased with Silver Scrolls and Midnight Rose which you sent me they are throwing up spires of flowers now ;0))
