Gardening or housework???????

Well to be honest it wasn`t much of a fair contest really, the sun was shining beautifully, however I was being good and working away whilst stopping every few minutes to gaze out the window, then a very nice delivery man arrived at the door… My new Hellebores…
All arrived safely in very good condition and lots of new growth, they couldn`t possibly stay in those tiny pots a minute longer, as the weather is so good and I`m itching to go in the garden anyway, I now have the perfect excuse…
All planted now, time to check out what we already have to smile about..
Be good if the new ones take as good as the ones already established.
More little beauties..
I wasn`t out long but it did feel good…

"You Garden" Scotkat, bought through Amazon, ten plants for £20 which includes the postage, I only ordered them on the 29th Jan...I`m really pleased with them..

They look good - and now comes the excitement of waiting to see what colours they are! They are good big plants for that price too.

housework would always come bottom of my list!!
those plants are in brilliant condition, and such big plants

can we quote you on that bulbaholic?
be a good thing to have framed up in the house?

Surely a tiny house is the sign of a busy life.

no a messy house is a sign of a busy life Linda :o)
BA I am going to have that put up in the kitchen where my OH can see it as he surveys the dirty dishes.
Lincslass I am so envious. hopefully i will get out tomorrow. Though the forecast suggests another flurry of snow :o(

The only disappointment is the fact that they weren`t labelled but I have the element of surprise to look forward to when they do flower..
Bulba I do like that saying and I have to admit the garden does usually come out on top with me.....
Linda a tidy house here means I have the place to myself, alright for a while but I would soon get bored and lonely..
Seaburn my hubby has been on holiday this week so been home most of the time, we have done a few neccessary jobs that had been put on hold, firstly by illness and then the bad weather but mainly he has enjoyed the break, however I`ve lost count of the times he has said " Why are doing that at this time of the day?.." Do you have to do that now?" or," Can`t you leave that for now ?" yesterday in sheer frustration I replied, Derek its called housework, I DO NOT spend all my days sitting down doing NOWT!!!!!!! LOL..
He was brought up in a childrens home and never had a proper home until we were married so as long as he`s fed, clothed, has somewhere to sleep and his own space for his treasures he honestly wouldn`t really be bothered..

I'm glad you had an excuse to get in the garden for a while :o) It's exciting getting plants through the post !

I agree a tidy house could be a sign of a wasted life but our garden,s reap the benefits ! Lol when I started to use the computer after retiring and taking a 10 week computer class and a 10 week family research class at our local night school , I remember my OH coming in to the study and saying oh I see this is how academics and oddballs live is it with cobwebs hanging from the ceiling they don't have time to look up ! And since joining Goyer not a lot as changed lol Lincslass I wish your plants well as they say life is for living and gardening :-))

I have ads of my choice now and at the top and to the right is an Amazon ad for my plants Hellebores Kings and Queens Mix, LOL.....

Such a good bargain Lincs, if they turn out like he ones you already have next years display will be wonderful!
Housework isn't my idea of fun either, I,ve a friend who loves her house and does the garden rather like I do the house.....when it badly needs it!
But with art and craft projects, a good book, the garden and good friends, in Goy and in person dusting the cobwebs isn't my priority. :0))

Absolutely right Pam, and what a WONDERFUL delivery Lincs . . . terrific value for such healthy plants. Of course you felt better for being outside in the garden, it's the best therapy there is! I've just been sorting out seeds, and am about to shimmy up to the greenhouse and actually SOW the ones that prefer cold.
Lovely blog and great pics :)))

I can't believe you got all these for £20, Sue! I would never have thought of going on Amazon for plants. I shall be checking them out now as I would like Achillea Gold Plate and the seeds aren't available anywhere and the plug plants are expensive. Yes gardening always first! One of my friends only has a concrete back yard! Her house is always spotless, and not a plant in sight! That is so sad!

My visitors often comment on how tidy and clean my greenhouse is . . . they keep their mouths shut about the state of 'indoors'!

lovely plants sue and glad you have enjoyed being in your garden :o))

The few moments of good weather have to be grabbed and used to advantage at present !
Well done Lincs , lovely hellebores .

'Tidy house is a sign of a wasted life'!!! I will remember that one next time I feel guilty about putting off the housework!!
Lovely plants there Lincslass.

Bet you did feel good Lincs, and those small signs of spring there warm the heart dont they? Love your hellebores, they will be beautiful.

What a bargain Linclass. Your flowering plants in the garden are lovely. I do like the Eranthis. I had hoped to get seeds for a pale cream one from the srgc seed exchange but instead got one named 'Orange Glow'. It looks a bit bright but I'll be pleased if I am successful in growing it. Seed was in short supply this year but I was lucky with most of what I asked for.

What a good buy, please take photoe's when they flower :0)

Housework is best done at top speed when you hear the in laws are coming. Surprising how easy it is when there is a limit on the time you have to spend on it. I hope folk visit me and not come to inspect the standard of cleanliness or decor.

What lovely healthy plants Linda and who cares about the indoors when so many exciting and new things are happening outdoors, wish my Hubby agreed with me, give me the garden any day!

How I envy you your day Lincs it was cold wet and windy here. Those Hellebore look as if they are going to make lovely strong plants.
4 Feb, 2013
They look to be such strong plants Lincs, are they a mixture? You've a smashing selection of late winter flowers there, and I love the deeper pink Hellebore, it's stunning!

Yes Janey, Kings and Queens Mix from Amazon.....

I feel better about our untidy house now. Reminds me that at "a tidy desk is a sign of a sick mind"
No worries there then.
